I was a client for about 3-4 years there. After Claudia left, business seemed to lose its customer service and professionalism š¤·š¾āāļø the owner yelled at me and ask me to leave her store because I was a bit agitated that my appointment was for 10:30 AM (I arrived at 9:57 AM because I had a few following appointments that day) and was started by one of her newer assistants that she implied was not as skilled as she was around 11:30. Of course, as a loyal Client, i went to them to receive my birthday hairstyle. The owner Jae did not start my style (a Simple bun with a bang) until 1:30 PM and I made her aware that I had an appointment In another borough for 3:45 PM. Although she promised I would be out of her salon by 1:30 the latest, 2:30 PM caught me in her chair. I provided her with pictures , the hair , and my schedule all between 1-4 weeks prior to this day. It seems as though she did not take heed of this and was unable to match the style I sent her . She told me the hair was ātoo shortāand needed longer hair even though I left the hair at her salon for some weeks. I ran to the beauty supply store on the corner and returned with the hair she said I needed within 5 minutes. She refused to fix the hairstyle and proceeded to take clients whose appointments were after my own and did not seem to care. The client even said I could go before her but Jae had her own motives. I had to leave the store with the tacky hairdo and get my hair done elsewhere. Please note that I left with my hair In a ponytail, not a bun, and with the unpolished bangs. The bangs were not even flattened for a somewhat seamless finish.
Not to my surprise, Jae managed to stir drama at the next salon by misconstruing my words because she knew exactly who I was going to š (screenshots below š¤) . Fortunately the artist sent me screenshots of their outreach to her. Tacky and unprofessional to say the least, especially after her outrage from stress. Anyone would get agitated for patiently Waiting hours to be styled for the style to be incorrect. The week prior, she had my mother wait about 3 hours to make adjustments to her style as well. Things a stylist would know needs to be rectified (dry ends, more curl, etc) were not fixed until we repeatedly questioned whether the style looked appropriate to go to church service with. IF it were the client who tried to stir trouble, I have no doubt she was only trying to serve loyalty to her stylist. I know what was said and to their surprise, my friends were on the phone and confirmed.
The stylist who fixed the style and her clients were appealed by Jaeās work and said so many things were done incorrectly. From the way my hair was straightened, The gel down of my natural hair, even to how the bangs were applied. The Stylist even mentioned I didnāt need any more, or longer, hair and Jae simply was not wrapping the hair correctly. For weeks on end, i even asked Jae to show me how to curl and style hair so I can be more reliant on myself and she rudely shut it down, āI run a business... go learn on YouTube or pay me to get it doneā. Please be advised ladies and be careful who you give your hard working coin to!

So i was informed about this place which is up the street. Itās a really pretty, small salon & the owner was friendly. I told her what i needed and she seemed to understand. I was charged about 525 dollars (!!) However i had no choice as i said I was desperate. The day i came to pick up my wig I also paid for braiding & installing. I specifically set my appointment for 1:30 because i told her I had to be at work 4:00 and itās a new job. I came 15 mins earlier just so i can be seated in time. I did NOT get seated until 3:00!! I sat there and watched her just start on someoneās hair at the time i set my appointment. Sheās taking her sweet time and just gossiping and laughing around as if iām not sitting there. To make it worse I see my wig and itās NOT what i asked for. I asked for a middle part she gave me a side and the wig looked super skimp and thin! Everytime i tell people how much i paid they look at me like iām crazy itās super Embarassing! So i had to arrive to my new job LATE just for a disappointing wig. There was also a track loose in the front so itās visible and the closure wasnāt bleached so it didnāt blend in with my hairline one bit! Just an overall terrible experience. NEVER AGAIN JUST ORDER YOUR WIGS FROM CHINA ITS...

I went to the shop a few days ago spoke to her about getting a 1/2 up half down She told me to come back at 1230 I got her phone number to text her how much is was going to be. She had clients in the chair so I thought it would be best to text her about the price she told me 190 that's way too much for a 1/2 up half down so i said how about we do 175 although 175 is still too much . So she stopped texting me. Use your words little girl Don't be rude and just stop communicating with a potential client because your not getting your way at the end of the day you are a business owner are you not? The problem is that IG is getting in these kids heads like oh this your talent price it for whatever its non-negotiable. yeah well this is New York everything's negotiable thankfully I found someone 10 minutes later to do my hair and I love it and she got client for life and all for 165 and then of course...
