Constantly find moldy and expired food on their selves. Consistently more expensive than other places and some of the younger employees can be real nasty from time to time.
I bought moldy cupcakes from their bakery once and they gave me an insanely hard time trying to return them even though there were others on the shelf with mold as well.
I've found expired stuff on their shelves, brought it to their attention and nobody did anything, was still there days later.
Mushy, old and sometimes rotten fruit and vegetables is no rare sight in their produce section.
And most recently I was buying bread and found mold covered bread just sitting on the shelves. (See pic)
I understand that this place is local and close to their neighborhood, so they shop there. But if possible I would recommend going anywhere else first.
And if you do go to key food on arden, Make sure you're very careful and check all expiration dates and any bakery/bread...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLiving very close, KeyFood has been our neighborhood supermarket since the day it opened. There is, however, the constant trade-off of quality and value Vs convenience. If you are to shop at this store, be prepared to toss out produce on a regular basis as it is a common occurrence to open a package of produce and find it to be rotten, or unusable. Our most recent adventure involved two heads of Romaine Lettuce which was so packed full of dirt and mud that cleaning it was impossible. My wife and I spent literally 30 minutes repeatedly soaking and rinsing the lettuce and were not able to eliminate the caked-in dirt. If this was a one-up failure we would laugh it off, but all too often we must change our plans because something we picked up at KeyFood was not edible. I do hope the store manager takes a look at this review and does something to improve this situation as we need a good neighborhood store, and this...

I ran inside to grab lunch I went to the deli and asked the deli guy ( Dark Hair / mustache & beard ) if he can make me an Italian sub. He started off, giving me a look that he wasnāt happy about my order and as Iām telling him what to put on the sub, heās walking away from me and left me talking to myself. Iām assuming he Was still hearing me. With that, I went to the produce department, and I grabbed an avocado when I got back to the deli guy, I politely asked him if he could add the avocado on the sandwich (I Wasnāt able to do that in my car).He looks at me then points to the sandwhich and says, āitās already wrapped upā.. in other words āNOā. The whole experience from start to finish was uncomfortable because of him . Last time I ever walk foot...
