Last August my sister passed due to Covid-19 and then we had to bring my mother down to Florida. I needed help desperately to store my momās belongings. Dave, Tom and Frank were all so helpful in getting a unit and taking care of everything since last August while Covid-19 was raging. Today, June 12th, Dave was extremely helpful and professional when I finally got to the unit to do āspring cleaningā. I would highly recommend this Extra Space location (Arden Ave). I would like to update my review to say that after two years with Extra Storage.. the service is STILL 5 star! Ā Ā Ā Read moreHas anyone else had issues with Extra Storage on 7 Arden Ave? Hereās my situation: Back in June, my credit card was compromised, so I had to close it and get a new one. On June 24, I went into Extra Storage in person to update my payment info. The gentleman at the counter (same guy who helped when I rented my unit a year ago) was polite and told me I could have done it through their app, but he updated my card there.
My July payment went through fine. In August, I didnāt check my statement ā my mistake ā and didnāt notice they never charged my card.
On Monday, August 11, after 6 pm, I went to my unit and saw a red lock on it. Confused, I checked my card and saw no August charge. I called their number to pay, but they added a $30 late fee.
On Tuesday, August 12, I spoke to the on-site rep (managerās away until September). He admitted the notes showed I came in to update my card, but it had been entered in the wrong spot ā not in the AutoPay section. He said once we hung up, heād remove the red lock.
Guess what? I went back at 6 pm tonight, and the lock is still there.
Now my personal items are essentially being held hostage. I told him Iām clearing out my stuff before September 2 because Iām not paying their inflated $240 bill. I found another storage unit thatās cheaper and bigger. Since I mentioned Iām leaving, it feels like theyāre being spiteful and delaying removing the lock.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreApproximately 2 weeks prior to needing a storage locker I found Extra Space on the internet via my zip code. I called and reserved a 5x10 locker. I was informed a site manager would call me to confirm the reservation and no one ever did. When the reservation date came, I loaded my vehicle went to the 7 Arden Ave Facility. I arrived at opening time of 930 am. The office was locked and the facility main gate was unsecure, I assumed the office staff was on the property so I decided to wait. After about 15 minutes I called the main number to seek assistance. They informed me the hours are 930 am and that someone should be there. I again stated to that associate that itās already 945, she then put me on hold so she could call the facility. When she returned to the line she stated she left a message and for me to wait a little while longer. I placed another call to the main number at 1015, informed them that if someone couldnāt assist me I would be leaving. It was at that time they stated the Regional Manager would be called and that he would call me back and to be patient. At 1030 am after not seeing any personnel and not getting a call back from the Regional Manager I surrendered, found another Storage Company close by and left. 2 Hours later the Regional Manager called me back, I informed him he lost a customer and hung up. No personnel, lack of keeping reservations and unsecured facility gates...
