Cold chicken patties or cheese bread sandwiches for lunch horrible staff and policies cant bring in outside food meaning your not only homeless but hungry often times, the staff here is corrupt and selective enforcement of rules they have favorites and dont even hide it the biggest issue i have is the restrooms are always dirty and if they arent dirty they are LOCKED AND CLOSED which is worst than being dirty The FJC security staff will constantly harass clients and are basicially useless as security since fights still happen and they arent allowed to intervene the dhs cops are useless for anything other than preventing you from bringing in food or drinks into the building they dont do any policing other than preventing outside food from coming in its such a pitifully unfulfilling job responsiblity I am surprised they are considered cops at all. The clients seem okay however drug addiction is common and stealing is not unheardof here. The case management staff is completely unavailable if your a worker. They are either not working today or todya is their day off or come see them later but like I said completely unavailablr when you need to talk to them so of you work your screwed for getting late or bed ret passes as to get these you MUST provide proof of work or medical condition to your casemanager and they expire after only 5 days so every 5 days you have to renew your bed pass or they will cut your lock and pack your locker up to put a new person in your bed so when you come back from work you have to wait until midnight to get a new bed and to get your property out of storage you need to wait until 7 am which makes no sense at all other than to punish clients who lost their bed by making them unable to access their property unless they are downstairs waiting for a certain staff member at 7 in the morning (mind you breakfast is at 530am til 630am and you literally dont get a bed until midnight or later, you dont have your property so no towel or clothes to shower and change after work) this is endemic of most DHS homeless shelters unfortunately. The showers have no place to hang clothes or even a place for placing soap they have showers here that domt have any hot water since they time i moved in and still do not 10 months later. I feel like there is no accountability to staff and how they treat clients like inmates and invade privacy. The casemanagers can only help people who are disabled somehow or workers with a very stable schedule. The heat in the winter months was so hot it was like a sauna in the whole shelter the staff all had fans the clients had to suffer with some beds place directly next to heaters. If you live here or around here or work here i hope...
Read moreThis is a good shelter. I don't have any complaints, my experience here has been positive. However, I do have a word of warning from God. Remember that not everyone here wants to see you succeed or has a positive vibration toward you. Let me explain what happened.
There's a lady who sometimes works in the cafeteria and the office. Not always but you see her once in a while. She likes to boss people around.
One morning during breakfast, she came in and started causing a ruckus, scolding everyone. She made it a point to say in front of everyone, "I see everything."
A little while later, she came into the lounge area to mop. I had my phone charging and she knocked my phone over with the mop. She acted like it was an accident, but then I remembered what she just said a few minutes before that in the cafeteria. She sees everything, so I know she saw my phone.
Later that night, I had a notice to meet with my case manager whom I hadn't heard from in months. So obviously this lady with the mop wanted to check me and let me know she's watching and that she can exercise power over me.
I don't really care. She has no power over me except what's given to her from above. But God told me to make this story public, to remind everyone that not everyone in the shelter wants to see you succeed. They may smile in your face, but sometimes people have secret feelings toward you, and they go out of their way to check you with all the pettiness they can muster.
So just be aware. Stay focused on you and don't let any staff play in your face. Most of the staff here are cool people and don't give you any problems. But you still have to remember it's a homeless shelter. There's a lot of people in the world with bad intentions toward you. They're called "monitoring spirits," look it up on YouTube.
This lady was a textbook example of a monitoring spirit. They're watching you because they want to dim your shine and clip your inner power. This lady by her own admission sees everything, so I'm sure she'll see this message. Take it as a word from God Almighty.
And it's not just staff, a lot of the residents are monitoring spirits too. They have low energy and low vibrations and they are perfect hosts for demons that want to act through them. This lady with the mop had a demon of jealousy and spite.
Other than that, like I said, it's a good shelter. 99% of the staff are cool and treat you with respect. Just watch out for the snakes...
Read morethe staff in this shelter is not afraid of the law, they violate the rights and even the rules of their institution, I did not violate anything, they kicked me out on the street on August 29, they did not allow me to collect my things, and some of my things were gone, I contacted the 311 Ombudsman service on this issue, and do you know what the Ombudsman did? she called this shelter, where she was told her false version of events, they said that I was a violator, aggressive, that they called the police and received a protocol on this, in fact, I called the police, and I waited for the police for 4 hours, the Ombudsman wrote it down and said that the complaint was accepted, she did not want to listen to my story, she told me directly, what do you want? I've been sitting here with you for 2 hours, I have things to do. I don’t know what to do, it’s useless to talk to the staff of the sheltor, the ambutsman doesn’t give a damn, the police did not try to help me, I don’t know what to do and how to...
