Took my first ever road test was definitely nerve-wrecking, especially the fact that I learned driving entirely with my dad, rather than learning from a professional driving school. With that being said, the Kissena Park Road Test site isn’t too bad, the traffic is light and not too many pedestrians as well. One thing I would like to emphasize is that be careful with the roads though, they are mostly narrow two-way streets, and you can easily be on the wrong lane (there’s no lane marking!). Even though you get extremely narrow roads, definitely don’t let it nerve wreck you. I drove way below the speed limit because of the narrow roads, and I lost a huge chunk of scores because I was too slow. My advice: keep driving at approx. 20 mph, definitely don’t go over 25 mph, the examiner wants to get out of the vehicle as much as you do, therefore don’t let your nerves get in your way. The entire exam was pretty much making left, right turns, followed by a parallel parking and a 3 point turn. And please, exaggerate your observation for all the tested items so you don’t lose any unnecessary points. I took off 1 star for the site because the day of the road test the temperature was 30 degrees outside, and the examiner required the window on both the driver’s seat and passenger’s seat to be completely opened. I understand that’s out of COVID concerns, but still one of the reasons I was driving slow was because my feet were almost frozen with the two windows opened up and winds displacing the warmth in my car. All of us had our masks on and the car was sanitized completely before the start of the exam. I don’t see the need to open the window, completely, especially when it’s 30...
Read moreI did my road test on 5/23/25 administered by Examiner #208 and this was my experience While the examiner did identify himself at the beginning, there was a second individual seated in the back—possibly a supervisor—who never introduced himself or explained his role during the test. This lack of transparency was concerning and made the situation feel uncomfortable. More importantly, the feedback and result I received were inconsistent and, in my view, inaccurate. The examiner asked me to sign a document twice during the test without explaining what I was signing. I was not provided with a clear scoring sheet or detailed feedback at the end. The test was described as an automatic fail, with the following codes:
“Automatic Fail Category: Examiner Took Control (ETC), Fail to Observe (FOB), Insufficient Skill or Practice (ISP).”
However, at no point during the test did the examiner take control of the vehicle—he did not touch the steering wheel or engage the brake. In fact, during his verbal feedback, he told me I was doing well on turns, and simply mentioned I was leaving too much space between cars, which seems like a minor issue, not something that would justify an automatic fail. I don’t know if this examiner is new or still in training, but the inconsistencies and lack of clarity in the process make me feel this evaluation was unfair and mishandled. I am respectfully requesting that this situation be reviewed and that I be given the opportunity to retake the road test with a different examiner. I would like a respond and...
Read moreHad a road test on 8/20/2021 my examiner was #539 he was totally unprofessional and definitely shouldn’t be an examiner he was NERVOUS & JUMPY the whole time was even seeing things that weren’t there. He grabbed the wheel twice which is extremely dangerous he said we were about to crash and we was literally NOWHERE NEAR the parked car, also he had a brake on his side that he could’ve pressed if he did feel that way not grab the wheel. Also he told me to pick up speed which I did and soon as I picked up speed he told me to turn right which I had to turn fast so when I made my turn he said “ that was literally to fast “ even though HE TOLD ME TO SPEED UP, I honestly feel like he was under the influence of something because it’s no way an “examiner “ is that fidgety and nervous. When he grabbed the wheel that totally was my last straw and of course my reflexes activated which caused me to jerk the wheel back. He was the one that was going to make us crash INDEFINITELY. My results was an Automatic Fail because he put “ Examiner took control of the wheel , near accident with vehicle and insufficient skill or practice “. I had more than enough driving lessons and let’s not forget I came with my driving instructor ! My next exam is scheduled for Oct but I will not be returning to this location I’m sure other examiners are more professional but the examiner I had need to be examined his self again his ID #539 if you can refuse his service DO SO...
