Metro Beauty Lounge — Local services in New York

The people seem sweet there, but the quality just wasn’t there. This was my first time visiting because I had a gift certificate for the place. I asked for a manicure and pedicure, both gel. I don’t normally get my nails done, so I’m not fully educated on the different polishes, etc. My pedicure could have been better because there was top coat on my skin and when it finally dried, the polish on the edge of my nails essentially smudged and rippled. My nails are completely see-through. Although I did ask for more color for it to be less opaque, that need wasn’t met. My manicure was done much more neatly, but I was left with two of my fingernails being completely uneven and the polish is somewhat bumpy. I’m very 50/50...

I needed a pedicure and manicure place to treat my mother who had come for vacation. I chose this place due to their nice reviews as my mom was nervous to try a new place but gratefully she was quickly put at ease. The owner Andy was so courteous on the phone when we made the appointment and in person. He took his time and gave us both excellent manicures with the nail polishes we brought (although they had a great selection- we brought our own). Amy gave us pedicures, she was efficient and so sweet. The massage chairs were nice, their instruments and facilities were clean and serene. I was able to get a same day appointment for dip powder, didn’t have to wait when I got there and was kindly served on time. Unfortunately within a week, 3 of my dip powder nails popped off. These were on my natural nails, and all came off in one go while I wasn’t being rough with my hands. Sadly they were messed up by the time I got to the wedding I was attending. The dip was also THICK and each nail a bit uneven/different from each other and I did bleed on 3 fingers when cutting my cuticles.
