Mimmo’s Pizza Shoppe — Local services in New York

Okay, so I’m kicking off this review with a big “WOW”! I saw a social media clip about this pizzeria, and I just had to check it out. My daughter and I headed over today, and we started with the Ricotta stuffed Sicilian. Honestly, it was probably the best slice of pizza I’ve had in ages. The pesto, pepperoni, honey, cheese, and sauce all worked together so perfectly, and the crust was just right—slightly crispy on the outside with a light, airy inside. Then, we decided to get a dessert pinwheel stuffed with Oreo and Nutella, served warm. It was absolutely amazing and totally worth it. I also ordered their spicy rigatoni with vodka sauce and Barada, their cheesesteak pinwheel, and, of course, another Oreo and Nutella pinwheel to take home. All I can say is that when I got home, I took bites of everything, and they were all outstanding. I’ll share some pictures below. I’m already looking forward to going back and telling all my friends and family that they need to experience Mimmos. Plus, I get to watch the stars! The crew working behind the counter were super nice and took the time to explain all the different items and their ideas behind them. Only downfall was I Just wish they had more seating. Like a table or two. They have 6 barstools by the window. But that’s no reason not to...

I found this place through an Instagram post of their Stuffed Sicilian Square pizza (which doesn’t seem to be on their official menu…?) and showed my husband who then proceeded to pine for it for a week before we finally got a chance to go. Let me just say, worth the tolls and the traffic!

I had a corner piece and my only wish is that the vodka sauce and pesto were more consistently added to the entirety of the pizza, closer to the crust. The ricotta adds a great lightness and creaminess but doesn’t add much in the way of flavor - the vodka sauce and pesto are the MVPs there. It also reheats beautifully… this is a pretty hefty pizza so we were glad that leftovers could be stored and eaten without issue.

I really look forward to going back to try their other bestsellers...

We recently moved close to Mimmo’s Pizza Shoppe and couldn’t be happier. For our first takeout order, we skipped the usual regular cheese pie (my go-to for a first impression) and tried their stuffed Sicilian specialty pie that’s been getting a lot of buzz on Instagram. Now I see why—it’s incredible. Heavy, yes, but an absolute delight. The fresh mozzarella, vodka sauce, ricotta stuffed into the crust, a touch of pesto, and drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey come together perfectly. Staten Island has no shortage of great pizzerias, and Mimmo’s definitely deserves to be in that...
