I’m honestly torn about this review. The braids look really good, the salon was clean, and everyone was nice. But I asked for boho knotless braids and showed a picture of a lighter, more manageable style. What I got came out much thicker and heavier. This is definitely the kind of look the girls want for vacation, but it’s not what works for me, so I’ll probably end up removing it in a week or so. I came to get braids so I wouldn’t have to worry about my hair for at least a month, but instead it feels like too much hair to be carrying for the next few weeks. It’s just really heavy and full, and when I try to put it up it’s just too much hair to manage. Like literally more than two full fists of hair so I can’t comfortable put it up in one pony.
Timing was also a lot for me — I got there at 9:30, they didn’t start braiding until 11, and I didn’t leave until 4.
The prep part was a little frustrating. But I am very nice and just d figured out a way. At the end of the day this is a mom and pop and the ladies here were all nice. The girl said she would have to detangle my curls while dry, so I asked if I could just detangle it myself with water and conditioner. Then when my hair got washed, it tangled up again while shampooing, so I had to detangle it a second time before blow-drying. The young girl who blew out my hair was a little rough — not terrible, but still not very sensitive to my texture, snagging a lot. She didn’t have the best technique.
The braider herself was nice and didn’t braid too tight, but the parting was rough at times and she split through my hair a little harshly sometimes but was very precise with parting.
The owner was also a sweetheart. We filmed a little bit for her socials. I didn’t want to complaint because I do feel beautiful. I am just frustrated that it isn’t what I asked for.
For the price, I guess this is a style I can keep for at least a week and maybe figure out a way to make it less bulky, but all of that just made the process frustrating because 200 dollars for a style to only have for a week doesn’t feel worth it. That said, the braids don’t look bad at all — they actually look really nice — which is why I’m torn.
I would recommend this place being that the other clients i saw looked great too. I’ve been to other places where it didn’t look good and wasn’t what I wanted, so at least here I left looking put together. I might give them another try, but next time I’ll come with my hair...
Read moreThis is a very honest and brutal review. Of all my experiences of doing braiding in different salons for 15 plus years now this has to be the worst. I’ve booked an appointment for early in the morning at 8am and i’ve immediately got my hair washed which was an instant green flag. Then i have to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for someone to start my hair which was no biggie because i’m a very patient person. I then proceeded to get seated and then the lady took another hour to prep the hair and get everything ready which again i’m very patient and i don’t mind. The braiding process took another 8 hours because the lady decided to take many breaks and she wasn’t listening to my needs. When she first started the braid and she showed me it was the perfect size and the right amount of boho until she started going smaller and smaller and now I have XS braids instead of the medium i showed her… She then starts going to do the hot water to seal the braids and then i see her pull out curling rods when I never asked for curls i then tell her I want it straight and then she says No curl is better and we go back and forth until I give in and just accept the curls. When the appointment is over I ask for the price on the phone and then at the end of the hair session i ask her again the price of the service and she’s telling me over $200. I then say that’s not the price you told me before and then she says “then why are you asking??” with an attitude. Overall bad customer service will not be coming again period. I also have to add i understand the language they speak and they were speaking about me saying “ they want boho but they don’t want to wait for the boho or pay boho prices.” it...
Read moreSaw this place on tiktok to get any length any style braids for $180. For waist length boho knotless with smedium parts I was charged $200 (braiding hair provided). Curly pieces are provided at an extra cost, and price depends on using human or synthetic hair. I used 1.5 packs of human hair for the curly pieces for a fuller look and was charged $75 (each pack is $50). With tip, this service was $300+.
Wash and blow dry is free if you go between Monday and Thursday, which I did add to my service. They start detangling your hair from the root, and not from end to root which can lead to breakage especially if you already have damaged ends. I’d recommend washing and blow drying yourself before your appointment if you want to avoid that.
Hair is taken straight out of the pack (not washed) if you do not bring your own, so if you are sensitive to the chemicals in synthetic hair you should bring your own pre-cleansed hair or you will have to wash the braids after because it’s going to be really itchy and stiff.
When I went they didn’t have multiple people working on one person, so I spend around 7 hours at the salon between wash, blow dry, and braiding being done by one person. The style does look nice, but the parts are uneven towards the crown of my head, and the middle part is not straight. The parts are neat despite being uneven. The braids also initially touched the bottom of butt length despite asking for waist length, so I had to cut it.
The staff here is super nice, but attention to hair care is lacking a bit and it’s just an overall average experience...
