We had a really good time. This was actually our third time visiting this establishment and wanted to bring some friends with us. Our first visit was in January 2019, whereas we stumbled upon this place by accident. Here's part of the story. We attended an All Black party on a Saturday night at The Flatiron Hotel in Manhattan, where we stayed overnight. The following morning, we decided to have Breakfast/Brunch at Melba's up the street in Harlem. Walking back to the subway, we had stopped at the corner of where Angel of Harlem is located waiting for traffic to pass. Then we heard music, sounds of people having a good time and the windows were rattling from the beat. So we decided to go inside and check this place out. The place was packed. The wait staff was friendly and escorted us to the bar until a table became available, which was over near the DJ. Folks seated in the U-shaped tables invited us to sit with them for the time being. We ended up ordering food and drinks and ended dancing with everyone seated from the DJ booth to the end of the bar, or should I say the whole right side of the building. Needless to say, we walked into the Angel of Harlem at 11am, on a Sunday, and did not leave until well after 5pm that afternoon and had an absolute blast.

I went there this Sunday for brunch. The wait time for food was ridiculous! I arrived around 3 p.m. and didn't receive my food until 4:20 p.m. I ordered the French toast breakfast, and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. My food was mediocre, disappointing, and didn't taste fresh. One of the worst plates of food I've eaten at a restaurant I've never had such horrible French toast and eggs in my life. It tasted like hospital food; the eggs and fresh toast were very bland and had no flavor, and whatever sauce they had surrounding my French toast tasted rancid. I had to force myself to eat it because I had been drinking alchol on an empty stomach for about an hour and a half, and I couldn't wait another hour for another dish. Overall, my meal was not really edible; it tasted horrible, but I had no choice but to eat it. I tried the chicken from the chicken and waffles, and it also lacked flavor as if they didn't season the chicken well, but it was still better than the French toast meal I had. For the bottomless, we had rum punch and mimosas. The rum punch was okay, not the best. The mimosas weren't good at all, which is surprising because how do you mess up champagne and orange juice? The orange juice wasn't fresh, and the champagne was probably really cheap. However, the music and crowd were great, but this place seems to be overrated, and the food and service need to be greatly improved. Overall, I wouldn't care to return or suggest this place, and I couldn't believe I had such horrible-tasting food🤢 and the bill came up to above 160$ which was shocking.

One weekend, we came across Angel of Harlem while on our way to another brunch spot. From the outside, it looked like a hopping place and my guy and I promised we’d come back another time. Angel of Harlem is super bold, lively and mixed with industrial and urban elements. The fare is Caribbean and Latin inspired, giving it a tropical feel. I for one, found my food choice a bit lackluster, but I encourage everyone to try it out for themselves. The margaritas weren’t all that great either, so I switched to my tried and true vodka/soda. Easy fix. The space was designed by Silvia Zofio of SZPROJECTS. There’s reclaimed wood paneled walls and a center-island bar surrounded by bright stools that’s hard to miss. There is outside seating for those braving the city’s, summer, heat. The neon sign claiming “Harlem State of Mind” adds a nice touch. On one corner stands the DJ booth, which was my favorite touch. A female DJ spun the night that we were there and that happened to be my favorite part of it all. It was a welcome distraction from our new waitresses mix-ups. We bobbed our heads along to "oldies." If I had a choice to go back I would, solely for drinks and some good tunes.

Came on a weekday evening for happy hour, staff were great, good music so decided to go back again on the weekend for brunch. We arrived at 1pm and were told we'd have a table (for 4) in 40 minutes and that the hostess on the door would give us a call so went to grab a coffee nearby while we waited. After almost an hour we went back to check on the table and were told another 15 minute wait so we stood by the door. The hostess, 15 minutes later we asked again and shock were told another 15 minutes, my brother noticed that she had seated people were behind us on the list (one of them being a woman with a BABY in a stroller) so we asked to speak to a manager and as if by magic a table became available. Once we actually sat down the food and service was great, our glasses were never empty and we even had a gentle reminder 10 minutes before brunch ended which was nice. Aside from the incompetent woman at the door who clearly thinks she's auditioning for Love and Hip Hop it's actually a great place with good vibes. Just a shame about the first impressions, they really do count.

We took the train on Father's Day to this restaurant that my girlfriend's sister there's Sun recommended and they are from Mexico... Well let me tell you it was not hard to find find it was a lovely corner restaurant we ate outside.. Her waiter was fun friendly and comical... Most of all are food with excellent excellent we shared a variety of plates from chicken wings which weren't appetizers but served with mashed potatoes and a salad which really made it great for share.. The lobster ravioli was excellent one of the best I've ever had everything was so great warm and friendly I was primly I will be showing pictures... But most of all let me recommend the brownie Alamo was Astonishing a lovely cake type brownie with ice cream and drizzle with a raspberry Topping... Well even though I didn't order but wanted to the steak and eggs looked excellent what a lovely piece of steak not that chopped up minute state did a lot of places Sir.... Although friends have returned home I think I will still make a trip when I travel to New York it was a nice and friendly atmosphere...
