WHERE DO I BEGIN?! I had the best time and experience at Angel of Harlem. As soon as you walk in you’re welcomed and you feel it. I went for my birthday this past Sunday sept 22nd with a group of friends. After looking at the menu I was so excited to come here, Im a big foodie! I had no Idea that this would be a day I never want to forget! I had an amazing experience 10/10 for sure. As my friends would say I am not an easy woman to please and I HAD NOT ONE COMPLAINT! The staff and owner are wonderful people, so kind so attentive, you can tell everyone is happy to be there. The music/DJ were fire, the place was LIT and it never let up. Sing along brunch brought everyone at the venue together. I am not a big drinker but boy did I drink! The bottomless rum punch is a must! It’s the best Ive ever had. We ordered almost everything off the brunch menu and not one dish disappointed. The chicken and waffles were to die for, the steak and eggs were cooked to perfection, the Jamaican beef patties…the lobster ravioli…the truffle sweet potato fries…the guava wings THE SWEET PLANTAIN HASH!!!!! Guys I could go on forever we ordered so much food it was all heaven. The drink did not disappoint as I said the staff was so attentive and kind. The photographer got amazing pics of us! I bought like 3 frames and I never do that. The owner was so friendly checking in with everyone at their tables, dancing with everyone, checking with everyone such beautiful energy, she has created something so special here. If you haven’t gotten th point by now…I can’t say enough good things about this experience…I had the best birthday and Angel of Harlem was a big reason why. My friends and I stayed for brunch for 4 hours!!!! The original plan was to have a quick brunch and explore the city afterwards…we were so sad to go…the staff was encouraging us to stay and or come back…they actually made us feel like they were sad too and wanted us to stay which is a great feeling. My friends and I left and not even 10 min into our “exploring,” we all looked at each other and said at the same time, “lets go back.” As soon as we were back the staff made us feel so special they were so happy we came back! We had dinner there as well…again NOTHING disappointed! We spent our whole day there and did not regret it at alll! I will be back, my friends will be back. AGAIN AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE THANK YOU ANGEL OF HARLEM YOU HAVE A...

I’ve gone to this restaurant for brunch on numerous occasions and I’ve always enjoyed myself, food was delicious and it’s always been accommodating. My last visit on 3/18/2023 left much to be desired. We sat in the area outside of the restaurant which was fine because there was a wait of 45 minutes to sit inside. We had been there 2 weeks prior and had not problem and we sat outside on that occasion as well.

It really goes to show how service can make or break your experience, the waitress made the experience of the restaurant far below the normal expectations. Her language of what she couldn’t do was very disappointing. We asked for a salad to go along with the meal. We didn’t ask for a substitution just an salad willing to pay for it, the waitress informed us that there were no salads on the brunch menu which is understood but two weeks prior we asked for a salad and it wasn’t a problem. That left the first bad taste.

Next we had to give her our card which she stated needed to be done to put on hold for the food. Which we thought that was a strange request because you usually leave your tab open when you order drinks which we didn’t. Our order was 77.00 which included the gratuity. When it was time to pay she took the card out of her waist pack and searched through multiple cards to get ours and we were informed that there was no hold placed she just held the card. I’m not sure if she was just overwhelmed with the day but that left me rethinking my choice to go back to this restaurant in the future. Bad service is really a turn off especially when the experience had been so good...

I went there this Sunday for brunch. The wait time for food was ridiculous! I arrived around 3 p.m. and didn't receive my food until 4:20 p.m. I ordered the French toast breakfast, and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. My food was mediocre, disappointing, and didn't taste fresh. One of the worst plates of food I've eaten at a restaurant I've never had such horrible French toast and eggs in my life. It tasted like hospital food; the eggs and fresh toast were very bland and had no flavor, and whatever sauce they had surrounding my French toast tasted rancid. I had to force myself to eat it because I had been drinking alchol on an empty stomach for about an hour and a half, and I couldn't wait another hour for another dish. Overall, my meal was not really edible; it tasted horrible, but I had no choice but to eat it. I tried the chicken from the chicken and waffles, and it also lacked flavor as if they didn't season the chicken well, but it was still better than the French toast meal I had. For the bottomless, we had rum punch and mimosas. The rum punch was okay, not the best. The mimosas weren't good at all, which is surprising because how do you mess up champagne and orange juice? The orange juice wasn't fresh, and the champagne was probably really cheap. However, the music and crowd were great, but this place seems to be overrated, and the food and service need to be greatly improved. Overall, I wouldn't care to return or suggest this place, and I couldn't believe I had such horrible-tasting food🤢 and the bill came up to above 160$ which...

We had a really good time. This was actually our third time visiting this establishment and wanted to bring some friends with us. Our first visit was in January 2019, whereas we stumbled upon this place by accident. Here's part of the story. We attended an All Black party on a Saturday night at The Flatiron Hotel in Manhattan, where we stayed overnight. The following morning, we decided to have Breakfast/Brunch at Melba's up the street in Harlem. Walking back to the subway, we had stopped at the corner of where Angel of Harlem is located waiting for traffic to pass. Then we heard music, sounds of people having a good time and the windows were rattling from the beat. So we decided to go inside and check this place out. The place was packed. The wait staff was friendly and escorted us to the bar until a table became available, which was over near the DJ. Folks seated in the U-shaped tables invited us to sit with them for the time being. We ended up ordering food and drinks and ended dancing with everyone seated from the DJ booth to the end of the bar, or should I say the whole right side of the building. Needless to say, we walked into the Angel of Harlem at 11am, on a Sunday, and did not leave until well after 5pm that afternoon and had an absolute blast.
