I just recently visited the Power Motors here in Brooklyn. The one on Church Avenue. The cars were nice and shiny, and they had the Benzes and BMWs circling the lot with the less luxurious brands in the middle.
Once you navigate your way through all the bumper to bumper cars you will see what I can only describe as an entrance to a strip mall that has not seen any maintenance/upkeep for a long time.
A young man approached me and I told him about my appointment to see a particular vehicle.
Before even coming in, I had called in and asked if the listing price on CarGuru was accurate, MULTIPLE times, in what turned out to be a futile attempt to save me a trip to a bad dealership. Whoever handles the phone confirmed the price. "Great!", I thought.
Right past the entrance is one tiny office where their representative/s hang out to look for people coming in.
So this young guy introduces himself, and he was charming enough, but what was supposed to be one price turned into a - "CaraGuru Prices are not up to date. Only the prices on our official website are accurate.
Wonder who I spoke to who told me the exact opposite on the phone.
I go to check out the car, and the guy hops in with me and asks me if I have any questions.
The model I picked out was already what I wanted so I just told him straight up that I am here to purchase a car as long as there are no BS fees popping up along the way.
He assured me that it was only the listed price and taxes. So we are already up about two grand just for CarGuru not updating the price...
The car was fine and I wanted it so we proceeded to the tiny office j mentioned before to talk about closing a deal, and that is where the running back and forth to the manager started.
He finally comes back with the 'final' quote and we are up Bout five grand from the listing price on their own website.
This was excluding taxes also.
So five grand mark up plus the taxes.
I've read similar reviews about hidden fees being inserted last minute, but I guess I had to find out for myself.
I blame the manger/s. Prob told the kid what a killer commission he would get if he gets someone to just randomly spend an extra five grand for no reason.
Dude also tells me that ALL dealerships add these fees...so why even look at the competition, right?
The car I wanted was in the lot yet there was a transportation fee that was explained to me as "If we get a car shipped from other states then you're paying for it".
Even the ones you had shipped long ago to....um...idk...have inventory?
Why would I pay for the transportation costs of your cars when the one I wanted was in front of me?
Then some more nonsense.
TL;DR: STAY AWAY. LOOK ELSEWHERE. HIGH MARK UPS. HIDDEN FEES. BAD EXPLANATION OF WHY YOU HAVE TO PAY WHAT. BLATANT DISREGARD FOR INFORMING THE CUNSOMER!
I do recommend you check them out though just so you can come home unhappy with another review ready to be posted.
Good luck with...
Read moreWhere do I begin… this location writes its own reviews via the customers login (I’ve witnessed this). After the car is bought and paid for the customer service if you have issues ie registration, transmission etc. (which is supposedly covered for thirty days until the 3k extended warranty begins) is an outright joke. Please keep on mind the owner “Ivan” was once and maybe still one of the biggest scammers; paying people to provide SSN and IDs of others to afloat and this goes back to 2017. I’m sure it’s being done at the new Queens locations as well. Be wary I know two people that thought the dealership had changed but behind closed doors the culture is the same.
Update: I assure you I’ve never worked for your organization in any manner. I do however welcome your defamation lawsuit. As again I beard witnessed to you taking a customers phone and writing your own review. If you read the reviews you have noticed that the same language is used in writing the majority of reviews. I can also produce two individuals that at one time we’re providing this dealership with the above said names and Social Security numbers. Also it’s hilarious how you continue to make Jacob seem as though he is more than what he is he is a salesman, who never has any exact answers to questions from customers that has to constantly run back to yourself Ivan or to your team so please let’s not make this get any worse than it has because; Pen is mightier...
Read moreSo My family and I went to power motors in Brooklyn to see about trading back in our BMW X4 we purchase from them last July. And that was at the power motors on Hillside in Queens. I thought let me try the one in Brooklyn maybe it will be a better vibe. WRONG. The place is dirty, red flag number one. It’s just has bad energy all around. Okay so now this sale guy named Carlos was assisting us he is very charming but it’s all game, he tried to give us 14,000 as trade in value for our BMW and tried to convince us that was the trade in value based on some computer system generated price. LIES. And tried to tack on a RECON FEE and some some other made up fees. He had to check in with his masters who told him what lies to tell the buyers and he does so like “Pick Me” he is. He will lie to your face with a smile. Power motors has been a horror for me and now I will never ever ever do business with them. Anyway we left there and went to a very reputable car dealership and actually got the car we wanted from a honest dealership. Who gave us what our car was worth. Moral of the story. Stay away from places that seem to good to be true and do your research and...
