I was looking at changing my insurance, both home and auto. I was not happy with Allstate and looked to taking my business to someone who was more local. Casting my net online I clicked way too many buttons and received way too many return calls from companies much too far away. I was beginning to ignore calls if they were from unknowns several states away. My good fortune showed when I answered the call from Jessica of the Petrozzella State Farm Agency. She was sharp, articulate, and courteous, which was a major change from the other companies who had called. And, it turns out that she was well versed in the ins and outs of the insurance world. I ended up switching my insurance on that first call: Jessica would throw in insights about what coverages I might need and use without any hard sell at all. That first conversation was probably about an hour, when other companies' agents would not earn ten minutes of my time. Read moreDriving in New York is stressful. Finding affordable insurance is nearly impossible. I went online for quotes and that led to dozens of agents calling incessantly to get me a quote that was vastly inflated when I got in touch with Geico and Progressive, I was going to give up.
I was randomly driving by a State Farm office and decided to stop in. I met with Shari, she not only gave me a good quote, she bundled it with life insurance to bring the price down. She guided me through the process of registering my car in New York, showed me which defensive driving course to take. When I needed my policy start date pushed back, she did so, always letting me know when there would be a fee or added cost, so I needed feel blind-sighted. When I decided to add an E-Motorcycle to the policy, she did her very best to help. It’s not just polite customer service but it’s being treated like a person. She cared, she took the time to research and she solved problems as they came up. Insurance is supposed to give you a sense of security. A lot of times Progressive and Geico feel more like opportunistic vultures out to get every dime they can while denying coverage. Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. Recently started driving again. Been with state farm for 5 months now. Had to have insurance before I could actually have my car on the road, take a road test and be able to legally drive. First they took away my Drive Safe and Save discount, because I hadn't been driving enough. So they actually reversed the discount and tacked on the two months of savings I had already been discouted, to be paid back to State Farm. At that time I submitted my proof of completion of the New York State Defensive Driving Program. An equal value of 10% savings on my insurance policy. Bottom line, it's been 3 months and my discount is still not reflected in my bill. Nearly at the end of my policy and they have done nothing but feed me excuses. I will be looking for a more diligent, as well as honest insurance company for my future...
