Tldr: Great service from Chloe/Alexis, received pictures of the vehicle beforehand, out the door pricing with a proposal done over text, and no hidden fees like 90% of NJ/NY dealerships
Before I begin, let me mention my experience with a few other dealerships:
AutoHub (North Brunswick, NJ): Visited them twice, both times they assured me that the price listed ($29,990) would be close to what I was paying out the door, after certification fees (which they could not provide any proof for), taxes and lojack fees, the total was 35k+ and 37k+ for the SAME VEHICLE.
21st Century Autogroup (Springfield, NJ): After contacting them via text and having one of the salesmen call me the next morning to confirm my appointment, I drove 45 minutes to the dealership only to be baited and switched. they told me the car had frame damage (which was not listed in the Carfax) and that it was in the shop (click my profile and read that review if you’d like)
Luxury Motor Cars (Hillside, NJ): They included dealership prep costs and an “LMC certification,” which they were not able to explain what it was for after I had questioned them multiple times about it, knowing it was bs. The price was inflated by 5-7k what was listed online
Victory Mitsubishi (Bronx, NY): Please scroll through TikTok and search up this dealership, there are video reviews and read through the comments, enough said.
Power Motors East (Massapequa Park, NY): Refused to give me any numbers unless I came into the store. After my previous experiences, I was not willing to go into dealerships anymore unless they gave me some numbers
Castle Car NY: Same thing, refused to give me any type of numbers or explanation
This is where I believe Mazda of Valley Stream stood out. After messaging Chloe about a 2022 BMW X3 (41k miles) I had seen, we managed to secure a deal within one week. She understood that I lived in Edison NJ, and a commute to NY would not be something I would do unless it was worth it. She sent me pictures of the vehicle, answered any questions I had, and got me out the door price without me having to go back and forth with managers or customer service representatives.
I respect Alexis (one of the managers) for sending me a proposal with all the taxes and fees based on my zip code. Although I could have taken this quote and negotiated with other dealerships, because they respected my time, I wanted to do the same. No LoJack fees, no certification fees, no dealership prep fees, no bait and switch, no prepayment penalty.
This is my first car purchase at 27, and all I can say is thank you to Chloe, Alexis, and the team at Mazda Valley Stream for my 2022 BMW X3! (Also for sending me brownies a week...
Read moreI went in this past Saturday 3/30 to test drive the CX-5. I had a deal with another dealership but I didn’t say anything to Valley Stream. When I walked in I was greeted by the Sales Manager Kevin P. Talk about a great guy, Kevin fits the bill. He made me feel like a hero and introduced me to Mohammed who was to be my salesman. Mohammed is a wonderful gentleman who knows everything about the cars. We sat down at his desk and the first thing he said was “what price do I need to tell you to get your business?” I told him a price much less than the one I negotiated with the other dealership. He brought the number to Kevin and said “let’s go for a test ride.” While I drove, Mohammed answered my questions in expert fashion without even hesitating. There was no hard sell tactics used by either Kevin or Mohammed. I felt right at home and all we did was laugh. We get back to the dealership and Kevin calls me over to his computer. He says look at the screen, look at this number. He changed a few numbers and the next thing I know, my price is staring me in the face. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I was absolutely stunned and ecstatic. Kevin says to me “do we have a deal?” I couldn’t get the words out of my mouth fast enough. I couldn’t thank him and Mohammed enough. Mohammed sent me to another area, and told me to have some coffee and something to eat while he takes care of the details. I have been leasing cars for 30 years and never, not once was I treated with such friendship and professionalism. This was actually an incredibly enjoyable experience. When my car was ready, Mohammed took me outside and explained how every knob and button in the car worked. He didn’t rush me not even once. He took his time and patiently answered every one of my questions. Then he loaded the Mazda app on my phone and taught me how to use it. I was absolutely in disbelief at how wonderfully I was treated. Before I left, I went back inside to say goodbye to Kevin. I thanked him, and got a handshake and a hug. I then thanked Mohammed who said “don’t be a stranger, stop by and say hello.”
If you want to deal with consummate professionals whose goal is to give you a great deal, go to Valley Stream Mazda and ask for Kevin and Mohammed. I can’t say enough great things about how they do business. I can’t recommend anyone higher, they are the best. Thank you guys for a truly...
Read moreGo elsewhere. I came in and met with Cesar for a lease deal I saw on THEIR website. I showed the advertised deal, he went to his manager Kevin and got the ok as long as I took a car in stock. No problem. Told him I was selling my current car privately and transferring plates so I left to drop the car but on my way I texted Cesar to confirm the numbers, I literally sent a structured text to go over the figures again with the total amount due at signing including taxes. Dmv fees, first pmt, and bank fee. He responded back with no the out of pocket is way more than that. I quickly busted a U turn and told him coming back. I sat with Cesar again and explained the out of pocket figure I had and broke it down. He shut it down rudely without letting me explain and started boasting about how long hes been doing this and what not. Im patient so I stayed calm and asked to speak to a manager and to have them break down the difference between my figures and theirs. Kevin came out and seemed annoyed already and goes "listen i can sell this car over sticker all day, if you want this car at this payment these are the figures you have to give us im not going back and forth" listen Kevin this is not covid times, and I didn't even ask for a discount nor negotiate, this is an advertised program on their website! Neither cared. Couldn't even explain the breakdown of the figures. This is the exact definition of a stealership, praying and hoping people dont know how to do math so they can make a living by ripping people off. Big round Kevin doesn't know how to speak to people and Cesar is just straight up rude that noone wants at the family functions. I went to garden city mazda, same deal, more color options, and actually honored the advertised programs which Valley stream wanted almost $2000 more out of pocket. Same car same structure. Sad I had to go there instead when Valley Stream is my local dealership. Word of advice, don't put the rudest person with the least personality at the first desk walking in and Kevin needs to be coached on how to speak to customers. Rude....
