I honestly am being generous with putting one star.. My stepdad is here and I must say the treatment here is highly unacceptable!! I cannot fathom the things that I have witnessed in such place! Within his first 3 days of being there he has witnessed blatant neglect. They left him sitting in his own urine for 20 minutes after he rang the bell for some assistance. Not only that, he has been here for a little more than a week and the only “cleaning” they come to do is empty the garbage. My mom comes up there everyday and she’s the one that washes him up, changes the sheets in his bed, and make his bed. After a week and 4 days they finally came in and made the bed, didn’t bother to change the sheets. Even though they said they change the sheets twice a week. And to top it all off the so called food they serve here I wouldn’t give to a cat. None of it is appealing let alone not edible. I understand the diet is for older citizens but this is unacceptable.

Awful. Patients are allowed only TWO showers a week. The pt I know, gets bathed Friday night and Saturday morning ONLY if she has an aide willing to do it. This makes sense?!?! It’s abuse. Not to mention the disgusting food. No choices, no beverages no fruit, nothing. While arriving to observe a physical therapy session, learning to walk using a walker, the pt had NO shoes on, only hospital socks with the gripping on the top of her foot, the side of her body that has weakness from a stroke. Was only corrected once I arrived and said something . This is NOT okay. Place smells like urine and is filthy. The staff were scrambling yesterday because the CEO was there in the afternoon. Now I know why they were cleaning the elevators with Fabuloso when I arrived. The photo is of dinner. Sickening.

Always professional kind respectful workers. They also relate very well with each resident regardless of their condition. They work like a well ran engine. This all helps those who are there seeking care.Having the home feeling realy shows with their activity staff as well. And the food is set up for each ones special diet.I am so pleased in my wife's progress. STATEN ISLAND CARE CENTER is a true blessing to us.Thank you 🙏

My father was there a few times. I have zero complaints. This review is LONG overdue. He had broken his femur up near his hip and had surgery to repair it and needed physical therapy and rehab to regain use of his leg and return to being as independent as he could be at 86. His PT was a friggin God send. Eddie is and was PHENOMENAL. My father would tell me all about his sessions w/ Eddie and loved the attention and made solid progress w him and he was a great guy to talk with etc. It’s not only moving a person that makes a great PT. The personality and the motivation are key to making it all come together. Everyone at S.I.C.C. was always cheerful and he didn’t want for anything. The place was under construction on the floor adding all sorts of upgrades and it was STILL cleaner than the other homes I had checked out before settling here. My father ended up breaking more things and Eddie and the team at Staten Island Care Center were ready to receive him happily. He got along with everyone there as did I. I was the “cookie guy” and would bring cookies once a week while I still could. Another person that handled dad’s case was a woman named Yelena( I’m sorry if I butchered your name. ). She was also excellent and handled things like a pro even when the world went sideways during the pandemic. Everyone there helped to ease my mind bcuz when I had to leave him at night to return home , I knew he was in good hands. I don’t have a bad thing to say about this place or the people that worked there. Remember , respect works both ways. Treat people that are helping your family like you would want to be treated and the world would be a better place. I’ve since lost my dad in August. He was a warrior and Eddie and the team helped to keep him in fighting shape for way longer than anyone else could have. He had been to other places. I won’t mention names but one sounds like “beggars” and the place was a disaster area. He was there a week and had staph. Pneumonia and was failing very fast. The bed sores he had when he was transferred to the hospital were so extensive that a bunch of docs came in to measure and ask me where he was and how long etc. This was also during the pandemic. Clearly he was completely neglected. He wasn’t allowed a phone. If there were no laws , people would be on milk cartons. We were going to be on the news , that place and I. They didn’t know it but it was in the pipeline. Long story short , you want a place that respects the fact that you’re not putting your loved one in there to forget them like they did in willowbrook state. You are putting them in a place that is going to care for them while you go to work and they rehab them so they can return home to the people that love them. I would recommend Staten Island care center and their staff to anybody I care about. I’m sorry that it took me so long to leave this review. I appreciate you all. And thank you for really giving a damn about my dad. The people that worked closely with him hugged him good bye. It felt like leaving family to...

It has taken me a while to write this review after having to grieve the loss of my father who was in this rehabilitation facility in August 2021. If anyone is thinking of having your loved ones go here PLEASE RUN in the opposite direction. My father was recovering from spinal surgery when he was transferred here for inpatient rehabilitation so he could get the proper assistance and physical therapy he needed. We never imagined what would happen a few weeks later...

My father contracted Covid-19 from this rehabilitation center (of note he was fully vaccinated). We understand it’s a pandemic but we truly felt this place did not take the proper precautions whatsoever. On frequent occasions, we would see elderly patients run past security trying to escape. Security did not pay attention to who was in and who was out of the rehabilitation center. My dad suffered the consequences. Another patient tested positive about two weeks prior to my dad’s positive test result. We are not sure how it got transmitted to him, maybe through the staff...it is hard to determine. Of note, my father was in and out of hospitals for the last year and half (including during Covid-19) and he never had any experiences like this. He was safe because those hospitals took the necessary steps and precautions when dealing with high risk populations. Over a year and half into Covid-19 and he was never exposed ever.

But worst of all was after he tested positive. My dad wanted to go to the hospital. But the rehab would not let him leave to go to the hospital without a doctor’s note, despite his recent spinal surgery and that he was high risk due to his age (67 y/o), medical conditions, and cancer treatments (chemotherapy). They told him to quarantine in a different room and that would be all he needed to do. You would think with the high risk population they would not only take more precautions but they would be quicker to intervene. In fact, he had just gotten chemotherapy a few days prior. Eventually he was able to be transferred to the hospital with a doctor's note (our PCP was amazing in advocating for him), about a week after going to the hospital he was put on a ventilator, and he passed away a few weeks later.

To make matters worse this place lost all of my father's belongings after he passed away. The center tried to give us a box of someone else's things but we knew it was not my father's belongings. For weeks they dodged our calls, even the managers would not call us back after requesting to speak to people at the top. Finally they admitted to us that they lost all of his belongings and offered us cash. It was not about the money for us, it's having his belongings that we really wanted.

We would have never imagined that a place we thought was meant to make him stronger and healthier would put him at such high risk. PLEASE I URGE YOU NOT TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Please...

My stay at Staten Island care center was tremendous. I was there for seven weeks during the summer of 2025. Everyone there did a terrific job and taking care of me and helping me to recover from my injuries, Nissan Gordon The director came to see me Many times during my stay and to make sure that everything was going well with my care and my room and everything in between, ISRAEL, the concierge was very helpful. Also almost anything or any concern I had He was always available to help and did a tremendous job. All the nurses were great , nurse SUPERVISOR Liz , Beatrice, Fatima, Vanessa, and especially Nurse Priscilla she Was an angel she cared for me during the daytime hours, almost on a daily basis and was always there to explain everything about all my medicines and all my questions in a compassionate way and really helped me through some difficult days not knowing about my recovery She really was tremendous. All of the nurses aides Mr. Brown, Ron, Kimberly, Gianna, Emily , Carisa and Sherry were great helping me out with my daily routine, Bringing my lunch and dinner and breakfast and helping me with the little things I needed to get through the day as far as linens and supplies , and special mention to my daily Nurse’s aid was unbelievable , Every day good morning with a smile and getting me ready for my therapy and helping me in many ways I’m a daily basis. I’m very grateful to samatha , The PHYSICAL THERAPY department was great as well once I was able to go to PHYSICAL THERAPY. They really got me on track on the road to recovery , Angelo, Jubal, and Nagua, And Trexy and Mia , Most of all my physical therapist, Marlon and Judy, who work with me on a daily basis, explained all the exercises all the routines worked with me to get my legs going again And hands-on therapy they were very instrumental and getting me to the point where I eventually I was able to go home on my own. I’ve always be grateful to them I couldn’t have made it without them , jasmine the recreation lead stopped by to see me many times, so let me know of the activities that we’re going on and to cheer me up I’m very grateful to her as well, and angel did a great job keep my room nice and clean and fresh everyday , everyone did a great job to help me through A very tough time and I will always be grateful to everyone at Staten Island and care center , I probably forgot some of those who did a great job and for that i apologize Sincerely ,...
