The Bridal Boutique at Always a Bridesmad — Local services in New York

we ordered my mothers mother of bride dress here in I believe August (wedding was the first week of December) and the dress was supposed to arrive in October. October came and went, and the dress didn’t arrive. I called weekly to get an ETA on its arrival and was constantly told “it will be here, don’t worry”. I also asked if I should order anything else for my mother as a back-up and was told “it’s not necessary, the dress will be here. I’ll call you when it’s in”. The dress came the day before thanksgiving (nobody called me by the way) and it was TOO SMALL. About 3 sizes too small. The stores resolution? Give my mother their sample dress, and they keep the new dress for the sample rack. But they still had my mother pay for the dress! She didn’t pay for alterations - but why should she? She didn’t order it in the wrong size. I’m incredibly disappointed in the way this situation was handled. When I called the store after my wedding was over, they told me someone would call me back to discuss and I never heard anything. I was so happy with my experience at Always A Bridesmaid in August. My mother and I were nervous in the given climate to spend any amount of time inside with others besides our family, but the staff was amazing at following procedures and making us feel safe and comfortable. We had an appointment time and were the only ones there besides the wonderful staff. It was my first-time dress shopping and they listened and pulled dresses that I wanted as well as ones that they thought suited my vision. They were so attentive and made me feel special. I never once felt rushed or pressured during the entire appointment and in the end, I left with a card with all the information of my favorite dress picks and a warm exchange to come back when I'm ready. They put veils on me and any extra accessory I wanted to see they pulled and put on me. I want to thank Brittany, Melissa, and Veronica who assisted my mother and me and gave such a great experience. I have been a loyal customer of this bridal store for years, purchasing several gowns for various occasions. Naturally, I trusted them for one of the most important purchases of my life—my wedding dress. Unfortunately, the experience left me deeply disappointed.

From the moment I walked in, the appointment felt rushed. Neither I nor my party were allowed to browse or select any dresses. Instead, everything was pulled for me without much consideration for my personal preferences or body type. I was only able to try on three dresses, and though I found one that I liked, I felt forced to settle on it just to escape the overwhelming pressure of the situation.

Adding to my frustration, they quoted me a starting price of $1200 for alterations, without even assessing what needed to be done. I immediately refused their alteration services, picked up my dress, and left.
