Well lets go back in time not to long ago, when gas was $1,79, yes we worked and earned every dime. A time where hours weren't the issue, quality was and a good bang for the buck. Ah the butter soft flank thin tender very lean Pastrami was kosher prosutto of choice. There at top tomato a memorable place once in Brooklyn on 65th Street and 14th avenue five decades later resides in just two places on Staten Island so Nelson avenue here I go. Yes two years ago my taste bud's was excited by their provisions. Well financially my things have changed where I had to take seven grand out of my shrinking 401k. Yet I do what I want to do and don't settle for any second choice. I know inflation is horrible, it's quite depressing for this 75 year old to not see smiles for my brood and grand kids. Yet this stubborn guy got to step up to the plate. So with the blame it on someone else personally doesn't stand for the people here. Ah today I placed a call to the superstore On Nelson Ave and asked on the specific Pastrami. And as luck has it, it was available at a reasonable price. Not from two years ago and not what gas shortages demand today. Wait a minute. My goal was to satisfy me, co workers, a disabled friend on the island. Yes I am a man always on a mission and never asked for songs or something in return. This family at top tomato were cordial, understanding, always with smiles, charming, charitable and above all face to face. They show the utmost understanding of all the working population as an American Family without politics. Yes chills are in order of sharing to find a way for all to prosper these days, the counter persons all of them offered ways to extend a joyful meal, the manager served as judge, jury and lawyer for the customer, and best of all for the pocket or purse the cashier total was euphoria to the taste bud's. Got to say, thank you Top Tomato Superstore for the men and women that you are and G-D bless. Yeah I'm crazy and love to...

Read moreThe quality is good besides the produce is skeptical. There’s a blonde cashier with glasses, usually on the first register who is always rude and bossy. She makes Top Tomato look like a prison more than a family supermarket. She always gives my little girl stickers whenever we go in together, but the way she treats the other cashiers looks unacceptable for a healthy work environment. I always see her giving her cashiers attitude and hear her bad mouthing the workers in the store. I also tried to make a return and she rolled her eyes at me and didn’t cooperate with me. On top of that, she’s constantly using profanity and cursing loud enough for customers to hear. It makes me really uncomfortable, especially when I have my kid with me. Besides that, I would rather shop at Top Tomato than any other market on the island. It is so close to home and the prices, you...
