ShopRite of Evergreen Plaza — Local services in New York

I can’t even explain how happy I was to see that ShopRite finally opened a branch so close to me! For the longest time, the nearest grocery store was about a 25-minute walk from my home, and carrying heavy bags back and forth was always a struggle. I’ve always loved ShopRite, but all the other locations were far. Now this new branch is only about a 10-minute walk away, which honestly makes my life so much easier.

The store itself is super clean, well-organized, and feels brand new. But the thing that really impressed me was the shopping carts — they have the latest technology I’ve ever seen in a grocery store. Each cart comes with a screen attached to it, and you can scan and add your groceries as you shop. It even has a built-in scale, which makes buying produce way more convenient. I’ve never experienced shopping carts like this before, and it honestly makes the whole process faster and even kind of fun.

Having my favorite grocery store become the closest one to me is already amazing, but adding this level of convenience and technology just makes it even better. Definitely a 5-star...

This new shop rite is 24 hours and conveniently located in the heart of Bay Terrace. I was impressed with how organized and clean the isles were, the layout is really nice in terms of how isles are labeled and flow. I unfortunately dropped a baby food can and three workers came to pick it up with no issue, they did not charge me for it. The problem is that since so many people were fixated on cleaning, there was hardly any staff around to help with message errors at self checkout which required employees to scan their card. I asked a gentleman with glasses for help in the area and he refused to assist because he was a manager and told me he was doing something else and doesn’t handle kiosks . Sounds weird that a manager could not help me given how short staffed they were. Only one register was open and the rest was all self checkout. The line was really long at the register. I think they need to hire more people to open more registers and the manager needs to fix his “this is beneath me” attitude. Thats what held me back from...

Beautiful store, they did a great job! I’m so happy they finally filled this plaza with a supermarket especially good ol’ ShopRite. It was hectic during grand opening but what do you expect? Everyone got along during the chaos and the employees were soooo sweet! I had Samantha on register 2 and her energy with all the customers was amazing to see. She was there since 7am and it was like 2pm (packed to the brim!) to have that spirit is a gift and I hope ShopRite does right by her because she held it down!!! I also noticed another young woman help out an elder woman who was waiting on the long lines but could have easily did self check out due to a small basket. The elder woman, didn’t know how to do self check out, so the young lady took her and helped her. Really great to see. The parking lot isn’t ideal/big enough and that’s my only complaint. But definitely my go to ShopRite instead of driving down to hylan! Great job evergreen!! Wishing best of luck...
