I recently moved back to NH after living on Maui for a few years and had not had a revisit to the Fox Run Mall since moving back. Last night I found myself at the mall and had some time to kill before my dinner plans so I entered Sweet Josie's Candy Shoppe. I believe the time I entered the store was approximately 5:45pm/5:50ish. I thought it looked like a cute candy store, reminiscent of my childhood days when I would go into Candy Shoppes and buy lots of speciality candies. Upon entering the store I said "Hello" to the young lady at the coffee area. I was initially really excited about this find and begun picking out a large assortment of candies to give to someone I was meeting for their birthday dinner later that evening. I had just finished making my last selection of candy and was about to head to the register, when I was caught off guard by a different lady then the one I had said "hello" to when I first entered the store. She was very abrupt and abrasive in her approach. "We are actually closed. The mall closes at 6pm and we get fined if we aren't out on time!" I gather that this lady was either the manager or owner of the shop. Like I said I was completely caught off guard. I had not seen this lady in the store prior to that nor did I know the mall closed at 6pm. I work in the customer service industry and have my whole life, so I am extremely respectful of ones time, especially before and during closing time. A kinder approach would of been received much friendlier. What she said was not what rubbed me the wrong way, it was her tone and approach. She actually scared me at first because she seemed to come out of nowhere and her tone came across very pointed. A simple "we closed a few minutes ago, if you could please make your final purchase that would be greatly appreciated" would of been much more effective then coming at me like a bat out of hell. I immediately went to the register and looked back toward the older lady who I felt was very disrespectful and she gave me the stink eye and walked away. As I stood there at the register the younger and nicer lady was about to ring up my purchases. I couldn't help but feel disrespected and mistreated by the older lady. I knew that I would no longer feel good about making this purchase based upon the interaction the lady just had with me. I told the younger and friendlier lady at the register that I was no longer going to be purchasing anything from the store. I told her that "I did not like how that lady confronted me and felt like she was very rude so I will take my business elsewhere" and I left the store. I was probably going to spend anywhere between $30 and $40 dollars in candy. However, I do not give business to businesses that do not deserve my hard earned money. Just be respectful of me and I will be respectful of you is all I ask. Anyways, after all is said and done I left the store feeling shocked at how I was treated. I am very glad that I did not make the purchase after all. This is my first and only experience at this store and will certainly be my last. "Sweet Josie's Candy Shoppe" left me with a very sour and bitter taste! I would not recommend this...

They are a lovely couple that are keeping the business in the family. They also do a lot to give back to the community helping young ones with their first working experience. Definitely worth...
