I recently visited One Love Cuisine as I am a huge fan of Caribbean food. In my trips to Jamaica, I became an even bigger fan of Jamaican Jerk food! One Love is the real deal. My wife and I had shared an appetizer and each had different entrees so we could sample more of the food. We started with the Jerk Wings, they were ok, but not as good as I expected. More of a fruity flavor when I was expecting a bit of spice. They were good, but I wouldn't order them again. My wife had the Jerk Chicken, which did have some spice to it and was quite good. If they used the same sauce on the wings, they would be a homerun! She had Mac 'N Cheese which was pretty good, had some form of chili pepper in it, maybe Jalapeno. The festivals were also right on par with what we've had on the islands, pretty good. I had the Jerk pork, which was also fairly good, but again, lacked the spice I am used to from the islands. I believe this is probably because the masses here in the states wouldn't be able to handle the full spice effect. However, it is still very good, as were the Jamaican Rice and Peas (red beans). My favorite item here was the Oxtails and Beans. The gravy is so rich and flavorful! Just be careful when eating them as those tails have A LOT of little bones that will break of loose into the gravy and could get caught in your throat. They are a lot of work to eat, but SO worth it! Overall, I plan to return to try a few other items here. This is in a mall food court, which is surprising. Half the menu is precooked and kept buffet style. I was there pretty early in the day, so I didn't get the sense anything wasn't fresh. No "holdovers" from the day before you find at some places. The other half of the menu is made to order. The folks working here are very friendly and helpful, service was great. I wish they had their own brick and mortar location as the atmosphere is basically a food court. The location is nicely set up with the theme of the Islands and is kept very clean, but you are still in a mall. Give these guys a try if you are interested in getting the flavors of...
Read moreEating at one love reminded me of Jamaica and family. The waitress was very knowledgeable and warming. Eating here felt almost like being home. The dining room was very comfortable and the reggae music was a beautiful warm touch to the atmosphere.
We started with the Cucumber juice which was sweet and flavorful. One Love makes authentic juices in house and a must try.
For an appetizer we had the coconut chicken. The coconut chicken was juicy white meat chicken with a house made coconut batter. The Shards of coconut melted in your mouth and was perfectly seasoned and cooked.
For entrees I went with the half of Jerk chicken. It came with rice and peas and veg medley. The vegetables where perfectly cooked and the plate presentationreminded me of a fine dining restaurant. My guest had the caeser salad which was presented wonderfully.
Side note. The half of chicken is served with the breast sliced and the quarter dark meat on its on. The Jerk sauce is spicy but not overly spicey.
The chef came over to our table and asked us how everything was. He was a nice guy and I always like seeing a fellow chef come out and speak with a patron.
On the way out the hostess said "ONE Love." What a great and authentic way to end a great meal. I will most defenitly be back to this hidden gem in...
Read moreBeautiful and laid back setting in a clean and vibrant atmosphere with good music playing in the background. Service was prompt and attentive, food is out of this world!!! We had always been wanting to come, but didn't have a good excuse until my sister was in town for the weekend from Florida so we decided to come for lunch today. The only thing that I'm sad about as there are not more patrons here.
Hubby had jerk salmon burger, and, despite claiming to still be full from breakfast, completely finished his Burger. My sister had the mango lobster roll and was equally satisfied. She also felt that the fries were spectacular and kept their crisp and delicious texture throughout the meal.
I decided to take the simple choice of jerk chicken which was absolute perfection in spice size and overall flavor. The presentation was beautiful and truly everything was cooked without complaint of any kind.
We are disappointed that we haven't been here before, but plan to make it as regular a place as possible as we can afford to eat out.
For delicious, unique, and fun food, come to...
