Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse — Local services in Newport

So when we got there we were told for some reason they didnt have the hibachi no real explanation but they said it wasn't hibachi right now. We sat down at our table and we had no silverware at all. When we got service he asked our drinks and food order and we ordered a filet Hibachi no veggies extra rice no noodles super simple, just plain noodles for my daughter, and I ordered steak and chicken no veggies substitute rice. Super simple order he suddenly came out told us our food was ginna be a long wait brought us some crab rangoons that she won't eat. At this point we dont have pur drinks or silverware. They bring out the food finally and we still dont have out drinks. The food comes out as my daughter's being kids hibachi with steak and noodles and rice instead of just noodles, my fiancé's was chicken and filet instead of just filet like it was supposed to be. But there were no steak knives to eat the steak.Now a woman came and checked on us and she was amazing I explained we didn't get our drinks and steak knives and my daufhters and hers was wrong she whent to grab the drinks and steak knives. She was wonderfully the guy we had on the other hand was not wonderfully by no means. When it came to the food the rice had no sauces and was underseasond at best far from a hibachi rice. The steak although cooked to tasting was extremely one noted and had no salt and pepper or amazing flavor that hibachi steak usually has. We ended up narly eating any of it.my daighters noodles were fine but again she didnt want anything kther than noodles and thats whay we ordered. He apologized but didnt offer us a discount at all for the mess ups and kinda felt like I was confronted and quilted by him. We had an amazing time here! Food was fantastic we went to the hibachi side and it did not disappoint at all! From the minute we walked in the greeter/person that sat us down was absolutely amazing the wait staff that took our drink order was also amazing. The hibachi chef was outstanding very friendly and funny and put on a good show! The food was spot on! We were not disappointed at all! We absolutely will be returning to this establishment! Grateful to have dined at tokyo steakhouse, I must say that this is one of the finest restaurants serving authentic Japanese in Maine. Having traveled and lived all over the world and the United States, I will say that this restaurant is something entirely different. It's a small town, rural atmosphere with authentic real japanese food. The prices are good, staff is better and i just hope that they continue to do well and more patrons give this place a shot.
