I so badly want this place to be good because its local and convenient, but the few times we have gone have been horrible. On the plus side...the lunch specials are a great price ($4.95) and a lot of food. The downsides and why we will never come back. -the staff were not all that friendly. The hostess did not smile at us once. I was uncomfortable the moment were not greeted. The waitress seemed like she was having a bad day and we were an inconvenience to her. They both seemed like they hated being there. No smiles or pleasant conversation. Your food service is basic here. -the food is absolutely terrible. Tastes like reheated frozen food. No flavor at all. Maybe I have been spoiled by some of the places (Kobe in Bangor, Wei Lei in Auburn) I've gone where fresh homemade chinese food is served... But this is absolutely awful. The restaurant feels sad and uninspiring. The decor is outdated and very very old (it hasn't really changed in the 30 years since I was a kid). Nothing matches and things are torn and stained. There was an old dilapidated plastic fountain in the dining room. I will not say it is not clean because my table and booth seemed clean...but it feels like it is dirty because it is just so worn. -Parking is horrible and unsafe -Finally we needed a high chair. They brought us this contraption from the 60's that rolled and wobbled. Very tippy and absolutely unsafe. There was a lap strap but not a strap that goes between a child's legs to prevent them from sliding out of the chair. I had to hold it through the whole meal so my 1 year old would not tip it over. So...I highly suggest you pass on Chinaway or if you just HAVE to hit that craving then drive to Bangor for your Chinese food fix. Just Yuck here in...
Read more4 of our tea cups had black residue inside, our water cups had what looked like slimy paper on them possibly straw paper from the dishwasher. My wife's plate had stuck food on it. The waitress talked my wife out of ordering herself a dinner because she believed that my kids and I would have plenty of food from 1 pupufor2 platter. She literally told my wife that you don't need to order one for yourself. My wife was so angry she didn't bother to eat. Between my daughter and I we ate 1 chicken finger, the beef and pork than once I got to the wings I broke one open and it was bleeding and very undercooked. I've worked in many kitchens and undercooked meat is a huge no no. Undercook or raw chicken is usually something that gets you fired. I took the uncooked chicken outback to the cooks and I was asked by the guy on the wok what I would like in exchange...I left the kitchen and my family and I walked to the hostist to discuss the issue a lady took "inventory" of what we ate and charged us for an order of dumpings that my son ate. She tried charging 1/4 the price for the platter and I said no way. This place is horrible and unsanitary please do not feed this food to your children. Adults if you enjoy food...
Read moreSo we decided to get Chinese food here we had it before 3 years ago and it was fantastic BUT. We ordered 3 dinners and appetizers $52. Let me just say stay away. Appetizer steamed dumplings beyond small and weird smell they looked like they purchased these at walmart. First dinner boneless spare ribs hold the fat and almost breaking my tooth on a bone. I should of said hold the grease. I ate half and the rest in garbage I'm just waiting for stomach ache. Second meal My daughter got chicken and broccoli 5 slivers of chicken and broccoli that looked spoiled. 3rd meal My wife got general chicken let me just say uneatable. Chicken was freezer burned yes freezer burned and crab ragoon were sour. The inside of restaurant is filthy and run down. Conclusion families have tight budgets but if you are going to charge these prices don't serve 3rd world country food my advice stay...
