Kohl's — Local services in Newton

Kohl's is now a preferred location for accepting Amazon.com returns. My wife and I have never used Kohl's for Amazon returns before and didn't know exactly what to expect, especially since we had 3 items including a big box to schlep through the store. I called ahead to Kohl's for instructions and the possible used of some sort of cart for the packages and was told by a cheerful operator to just call them when got there and they'd send somebody out to help us. I must admit that my initial thought was, "Yeah, right..." Surprisingly, when we got to Kohl's and made the call, we were promptly greeted by a cheerful lady pulling an orange cart. She took charge of the return boxes and showed us back to the Amazon returns area. There we were met by another cheerful and helpful lady who knew exactly what to do and quickly processed our returns and provided us with tracking numbers and receipts. In our conversation during the processing, she made it plainly clear that the loved her job and enjoyed meeting and helping people. In fact, all the Kohl's employees we met that visit were not bashful about displaying the same attitude. We were even rewarded a 15% sale coupon for returning an Amazon package at Kohl's (!). Quite frankly, this type of employe curtesy and helpfulness is something we don't see much of anymore, and these nice ladies turned the "chore" of returning multiple packages into an enjoyable visit. I can't help but wonder, what kind of management fosters that kind of enthusiasm? One the way out, my wife said to me, "I can't believe this, everybody is so genuinely nice and helpful... We've got to shop here more...

Other than how pretty they've made this store look, It is gone way down hill. They don't have enough staff to man the floor or the registers So they shut down registers at the side door. But there is no warning to customers, especially handicapped, who park on the Side, Shop hours in the store with no assistance from any associates, Then try to check out only to find out They have to walk all the way back across the store again to pay. The few workers that were there were too busy talking amongst themselves to notify customers of this or acknowledge their presence when they finally do make it back to the front entrance checkout. They really need to shut down the side door access. Totally ridiculous. Also, this is the Get Kohl's cash For so many $$ spent event. No Kohl's Cash given. Very...

I wanted to use my Kohls cash before it expired and had not gotten to visit the store before Memorial Day. I stopped in, browsed the women's and boys departments and found Exactly what I wanted and need for an upcoming trip! Store is spotless, altho somewhat maze-like since the bank of former checkout registers was turned turned into self-checkout stations. I used that because no customer was there and the helpful associate was just waiting to be of service. Kohl's is really a great place to shop: super clean, tremendous selection and great Clearance racks where the buys are fantastic! ...
