It was exciting to see a real Hobby Shop again and one that is owned by individuals that has the knowledge and love for the sport. Having flashbacks and a love for R/C racing I went in to inquire about todays cars, being I have not ran one in 20 years. I wanted one for my 12yr old son. Jay took the time to discuss the differences between the nitro and electric. I reminisced about when I was younger and he explained to me the newer differences. He did not push the more expensive item. He listened to what my intent was for my son and the price range I wanted to stay in. Something he can have fun with and build up and modify. He showed some examples and was clear with the differences. He even took one out to show me how it ran and it was a stock one. He did not show me what I wasn't buying, he showed me what I was. He spent I would say an hour with me, even though I was not purchasing that day. I did however purchase the next day. I am sure my son will be as excited as I am and now we have a place to go that he can touch and look at new things to add. Plus, they are very fair with the prices, which is tough when you are a stand alone private store. Glad you opened and are keeping the dream alive. ...

Crawler corse and indoor track as well and staff was kind enough to let my son test out a few different 'shop' units (he already runs a lot of rc so knowledge/skill was not an issue). It was late and there was a lot of people still in the store so they have a great following and seem to have an even better social connection to the community as well. Even the other customers were very social/friendly and engaged us in coversation about products, events, etc. Next time we are in town we already are planning time specifically to go back...
Read moreTyler is awesome! He was extremely patient with me helping me through my frustration with setting up and running my new nitro truck...even though I purchased it elsewhere previous to discovering Danbury Hobby Center. Through my own errors and learning curve, I broke my truck... Tyler sold me only what I needed, even though I asked about spending more money on parts I might not really need. The kid knows his stuff when it comes to RC cars...which is likely why his boss keeps him around. Exceptional service, and a huge inventory of vehicles and parts. I'll be in there quite often I think...maybe even today to snatch up a Slash 4×4...
