Lions Bleecker Street Pizza of Newtown — Restaurant in Newtown

Rarely post reviews but this has happened just too many times to us now. The pizza here is great, but for the love of God never order delivery. It is consistently at least an hour and a half to two hour wait even during non busy hours. And today we're sitting here having not eaten dinner because it was never delivered at all. We ordered through door dash (but they use their own delivery drivers). The order was placed around 7:30 and was promptly accepted. The door dash estimate was 35 minutes. We waited about an hour and a half when our order was marked as out for delivery. Only to be marked as complete 10 seconds later. Well we gave it another 20 minutes just in case the delivery was actually on the way. It wasn't. Now it's 9:45 and I guess we're just not eating tonight. If the owners see this, PLEASE stop accepting orders you cannot fulfil. There's lots of good pizza in Newtown and this kind of thing puts a really bad taste in people's mouths. We have several neighbors that have similar experiences. Please do better.

Edit: I'm updating this review from 1 star to 2 because I'm sitting here 16 hours later eating the pizza. It's delicious, but I'd say 16 hours is an unreasonably long...

We love this place for so many reasons. The food is always delicious, they have a great variety on the menu, staff is so friendly. Overall you can’t ask for more. We just tried their catering for the first time and I wish I could give 10 stars. Why did we wait so long?! We had a birthday party for our daughter and this is the first time we haven’t cooked. Both our families have high expectations when it comes to food, and all I kept hearing was “omg, where did you get this?” The food was truly exceptional and it was delivered right on time and they even put it right into the sternos for us. I cannot say how grateful I am for making a wonderful day even better. No stress from cooking, no mess in the kitchen and the whole party was raving about the food. We sent so much food home with guest and still have plenty for the next few days and more to freeze. We’d always go back into NY for our eggplant parm, and I’m so happy to say even my mom gave this the thumbs up. Chicken parm, eggplant parm and chicken francese were 10/10. So grateful to have you guys so close....

This place is a gem. The Newtown pizza scene is a joke. Bleecker keeps it alive! The staff is so friendly, so sweet, when I walk in here i'm greeted and treated like the Fonz. I can't thank these people enough for how well they run their business. You'd be a fool not to check them out. You really cant go wrong! pizza? They're all delicious but I cant recommend the Buffalo chicken enough. Pasta? again, they're all great but I might suggest you get the Penne alla vodka and the Fettuccine Alfredo and go bite for bite. Sandwiches? their chicken Panini is my jam. HANDS DOWN. I've tried a large portion of the menu, multiple times. Not only are they all noticeably fresh and very delicious but they are also consistently that way. I can't stress enough how consistent this place is with its quality, I have never nor do I believe I will ever have bad experience.
