The staff makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. And the oranges? Good grief!!!! Unbelievable!!! Stop here. Browse around. You won't regret it!! We didn't!!
Update: I'd like to amend this. While the above is true about the staff and taste of the oranges, the quality of the ones I bought is disappointing. I was told the ones I bought (brown spots) were fine. I knew these aren't commercial oranges that have who knows what on/in them, so I was fine if they didn't look "pretty".
We got home a few hours later and I had to discard 2 of them that were so squishy they were leaking and 3 that were quite moldy. After separating the "good" (but very close to rotten) from the definitely rotten, this is what I was left with out of two bags (bad on left, kinda good on right). Very disappointed with the quality especially after being told they were fi e when I asked about them.
Buyer beware.
Update 2: Dropping to 1 star. That one star is for the courtesy of the staff. $40 of oranges down the drain!! I may have had 5 oranges taste good out of the entire 2 bags!!! After cutting the "good" oranges, almost every one tasted rancid. NOTHING like the free samples they had out. Some were visibly rotten on the inside (brown center). I'm VERY disappointed in this place. Shame on you for selling these for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreComplete waste of gas and time. Overpriced for nearly expired and expired snacks. My husband and I are appalled by the expiration dates on "MOST" products they had on their shelves. When brought to the staff's attention, they all could not believe what I was saying and asked me to show them. When I showed them, many different proof of snacks they were selling were expired and close to expiration dates, they said they just got the supply a few days ago. That only shows that either the special Florida products they sell don't sell much at their store OR their supplier doesn't have much sales in the products they sell that they supplied almost expired products to their retailers. Some of the items they sell that I saw that were almost expired were the Tortuga rum cakes. Coconut patties, salt water taffy, dried candied orange slices, key lime cookies and nut brittles to name a few. If you decide to visit the place, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES of the food they sell. Not worth getting the bad stomach unless you want to pay expensive to go to the bathroom. I was excited to come because not too many stores have FL products being sold in one store but it was such a complete let down. I do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place for I had a fantastic experience at the Florida Citrus Center! The store is a vibrant celebration of Floridaās citrus heritage, with a wide variety of fresh, juicy oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines that burst with flavor. I loved that they offered free samples, which made it easy to pick out my favoritesāred navels and honeybells were a highlight! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing tips on selecting the best fruit and even suggesting some delicious local jellies and candies to try. The shop is packed with fun souvenirs, from Florida-themed gifts to unique treats, making it a perfect stop for visitors and locals alike. The clean restrooms and convenient location right off the highway were a bonus. I left with a bag of citrus and a big smile, already looking forward to...
