I came with two friends. We are all teenage girls.
Our waitress was an older woman. She talked so low and crackly we had to lean in to understand what she was saying. When ordering my meal, she asked what waffle I wanted. My menu item didnât include a waffle, so I of course was confused. She got very annoyed and passively aggressively explained that another completely different item came with a waffle, and asked if I wanted it. I said no, because thatâs not part of the item I ordered. She continued to be inconvenienced by our presence for the rest of our time there. Constantly sighing when we were nothing but respectful. After we had gotten our food, a group of obviously drunk people walked in. We donât care. This is a Waffle House at 10:30pm. Thatâs the norm. They decide to sit right next to us. We are having a normal conversation. Weâre not being loud at all, just laughing and having a good time. Yet our waitress comes over to us and says âYou girls need to quiet down. This is a family establishment and these people are trying to have a nice meal.â I really doubt these drunk people who had just come from a party are allergic to joy and laughter. Plus, we arenât even being loud. And ITS A WAFFLE HOUSE! I love Waffle House but itâs not exactly a five star restaurant. And if these people wanted silence they wouldnât sit next to some of the only other people eating. I truly down they complained to her. Sheâs just miserable. Later, our waitress walks by us, and my friend politely stops her and asks if we can get some food to-go. She gets very irritated and says âI canât do that right now. There are other people here besides you.â I might BEGIN to understand this if it werenât for the fact it was not busy at all. There were maybe three other tables there, and there was another waitress working so she was by no means too occupied for this. She says she will come back to our table, but in the next 15 minutes she doesnât. My friends dad comes in and asks for the check and again for the to-go order. She finally takes it and claims she was going to, like we were just being impatient. It was like she was trying to get this teenage girl in trouble with her father. Very weird. I would like to add that the other waitress was very kind. I wish we had her. I saw another post on here with the same experience as us posted 2 hours after we had left! It seems like she just...
Read moreWe used to visit this outlet frequently specially during weekends and holidays.
We had a terrible experience about a month back at the Waffle House on I-95 and County road 210.
When my family and I entered, there was no welcoming us, an elderly waitress stared at us and "shouted " to sit anywhere since they were not so busy. We didn't liked her attitude but refrained from reacting, as we had our weekend planned and did want to spoil our day over her attitude. It was clear she didn't like our faces.
She turned out to be our server, she came and literally threw the knifes and forks startling and unnerving my kids sitting at the table. We tried to ignore it. Then after a long wait, she came to take the order. My 6-year old asked for hot Coco, to which she shouted to him in a very loud voice that they don't serve it and he should know better!!! She then "told us" to get our order set by the time she comes back to our table next.
That was more than what we could take, we got up and walked out not wanting to creat a bigger scene. Other waitresses also appeared shocked at her behavior but didn't intervene so I assume she was their supervisor. If she was was not, then I don't know what the supervisor was doing when this was going on?
On getting back in our van, my kid still wanted to have breakfast with Coco milk so we looked up another Waffle House further down south on I95 and went there.
There, we were properly greeted by a friendly server. She showed us the table, gently put the cutlariers and came back for our order. Again my 6 year old asked for the hot coco, to which she politely told him "I am sorry, but we don't serve that anymore, can I get you a cold coco instead? To which he replied sure.
What a world of difference, between the two franchises, which are just about 15 min apart. We are never going back to the Waffle House at 210 and I-95 again till they start treating all...
Read moreWe took the kids to Waffle House for dinner, not packed or busy we sat down and it took about 10 minutes or so just to even be acknowledged or greeted. We then ordered our drinks and food but asked for silverware in which our waitress was a bit irritated that we asked for utensils, then once we were finished with our meal we sat there for about 20 minutes. My husband over heard the new trainee go up to our waitress and advise her we were ready for our check and she replied, â So, you havenât taken his order or the Togo order.â After a couple more minutes of starring for someone to come give us the check, I told the kids to go to the car and I stood in front of the cashier and finally our waitress sat down and told me she was adding our check. She just told me the total she came up with, I didnât get a receipt with what we were charged with or anything. I tipped $5 but honestly, it was not deserved. Weâve never had a âbadâ experience at WH but last night, our server just seemed extremely bothered we were there. Definitely a...
