Culver’s — Restaurant in Florida

After hearing it was good, and being excited to try Culver's for the first time, I'd have to say that it was just okay. I almost gave it 2 stars, but decided to give it 3. The real letdown was the burger. It probably would have been better had they wrapped it, letting the entire thing steam and meld together, but they just put it in the basket, so that the cheese isn't melted, the bun seems dry, and the entire thing is simply half cold by the time you get it. We dined in, so maybe they wrap them to-go, but they should wrap them either way, like Wendy's, and Checkers, and Five Guys... so that the thing is hot and fresh, because, if for no other reason, than to ward off the sub-zero temperature of the dining room. In short, it kind of reminded me of the cafeteria burgers I'd get in school as a kid. Just sitting out. Getting cold. Maybe warm in the middle. Cheese so cold and rigid, it's still in its original, flat, plane-like shape. However, besides the sad burger, and the even sadder crinkle-cut fries (another cafeteria staple), the staff was super friendly, and the fried cheese curds and onion rings were out of sight. Those two things were the absolute highlight...

Love Culver’s but don’t always get a chance to sit down and enjoy a meal here. Ordered my food and sat down while it was being made. I feel bad, I did not get the young guys name, but he was wonderful. If I was a boss, he would be the ideal employee, friendly, attentive, and very detailed oriented.

I later wanted a little dessert, so he was there at the counter taking an older couples order. As I waited, I can hear the friendly tone in his voice and being sure to offer the options of the meals without making it sound very confusing. He was very patient as one of the couple were not sure what came with their combo meal. Like I said, he wasn’t short or dismissive with them but warm and helpful, something you rarely seen in fast food environments.

My turn to order and he greeted me by name, remembering from bringing my previous order to me not wearing anything that would suggest my name, very good memory and attention to detail.

I really wanted to give this location the benefit of the doubt. I’ve been to this location 3 different times within the last month; all three times they messed up my order. The first 2 times were drive through. The first time, they gave us the wrong order. The 2nd time, they left out three of the meals. Mind you, their drive through is always backed up, I didn’t check the orders, trusting they would get my order correct. It was a large order and people were waiting behind me, so I just trusted the complete order was there. I live almost 40 minutes from this location (only went there since I was in area). Yesterday, I went in to make sure I got all my food. I didn’t open each wrapper...I just counted the burgers. I left and got home. My order was the double mushroom and Swiss burger. When I opened my order, it was just the bun and meat. I didn’t bother calling and I sure as hell wasn’t driving back all that way. I am a patient person and know sometimes errors happen...but all three times? We are going to be in the area more frequently, but will definitely not visit this...
