Friendly warning to BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE⦠the quality of the construction and everything inside is poor and the lowest builders grade. Weāve had so many broken and poorly installed items, now we are stuck with cracked tilesā¦.. After 11 months of us closing and dealing with DR Horton and being extremely patient, I just received a call from Kevin from DR Horton stating that they can only replace the cracked tiles in our home with āsimilar colorā tiles as they had not been able to locate a match, which is completely unacceptable for us⦠as I am not willing to have random different color tiles pop up in the middle of our living room and dining.
As you can imagine I am livid with this situation and the low quality of these houses, as well as lack of proper resolution to this issue. Iāve bought new construction before and cracked tiles are so common that the builder would typically leave a couple of extra tiles in the garage of the new built house for replacement where needed.
The caller also went on to āreadā a piece of statement that according to him we all signed at closing stating that they do not guarantee replacement of tiles. I am mind blown, as I have never experienced something like this before with other builders.⦠BUY...

Problems from shoddy construction, lack of HOA enforcement of rules and guidelines, too many renters and units used as temporary rentals, lack of landscaping and general care, shortage of parking and vehicles parked blocking roadways, appliances that break after one year. Oh and the mental and rehabilitation hospital going up at the entrance of phase one. Planning on adding "luxury" residential homes along Moon bay. Traffic will increase and the beautiful trees and nature you see now will be gone in the next year. Do your research on DR Horton and this area before committing. Don't be fooled by their buy specials with low Buy down APR. My mortgage went up over $600 per month because property taxes were not properly estimated at time...
