Same layout as some of the Phoenix Stores I have been to. The store has a small pharmacy and check cashing services up to $1000.00. The check cashing services also have Western Union service and a money exchange to convert Dollars to Pesos and vice versa. The exchange rate is at or better than exchange rates in Mexico and surpass the exchange rates of independent money exchanges on the U.S. side of the border. The store also accepts Pesos for purchases, which is helpful. Other services include a bakery, full service meat department, deli island and a fast food takeout. Produce is fresh and and the selection is average. The store is very clean for a Food City Store, is located relatively close to the International Border and provides free bus service to and from the border to the store. Brand selection is the same as other stores and has a strong emphasis on the Hispanic culture. Ads run for a week beginning on Wednesday and certain holliday ads run longer and contain 3 or 4 day specials on various item on different days of the week. The staff is helpful and friendly but are often struggling to keep up during certain times of the day when lines can become long and wait times at the register are a problem, an area where this store could use improvement. The store offers services that are relative to the area and demographics, the free bus service is a bonus and the money exchange and the acceptance of Pesos help this store score better than Food City...
Read moreOn Friday, August the 4th I went to order one of there birthday cakes for my daughter cake's. They didn't have the flower decorations. Then they called me to tell me I could not have the amount of colors on the cake like they offered. Ok I picked two. & she asked for a back up flavor for the cake in case they didn't have it. On the day of my daughter's birthday they didn't have either 2 flavor of cake they had offered and ended up making it the flavor she didn't like. They said they called me. Point is if they don't have the product don't advertise it. And regular inventory is desperately needs to keep track of what is available. People don't dive all the way to the store to have all these problems that Food City has with inventory. This was a special day & got ruined when the backer started blaming me for not answering my phone. I left without the cake and got a nicer one...
Read moreThe restaurant/deli is awful at Food City. The menu NEVER CHANGES.Just the same tired food every day. The rice is ALWAYS COLD, the chicken tenders rock hard, the grilled chicken UNDERCOOKED, the soups TOO greasy, etc. The people who tend the restaurant are RUDE,always in a BAD mood like they don't want to be there. The women have their hair all messy for being in a kitchen. The eating area needs to be disinfected because it smells of old man sweat. It's always full of flies in the spring and summer it's a wonder the Health Dept. hasn't...
