WARNING: I am updating my post. I bought a used trailer at Norco Trailers. I thought I would have less trouble at a dealership, however, that has not been the case. In addition to sending me off with no pin to secure the latch on the ball, this trailer had a serious ground problem that caused the lights on the trailer to malfunction. The problem was due to rust and corrosion between the tongue and trailer body. The ground wire was also barely attached to the tongue with a self tapping screw but the rust and corrosion created a barrier that further complicated the grounding problem. Bottom line, they never tested this trailer with a vehicle before selling it and it was unsafe!
I called and left a message right away because the ground problem also caused problems in my vehicle when the running lights were turned on and when I tried to use my signals. Before I left Norco Trailers Tony, the owner, cut wires because the turn signals on the trailer we're functioning in reverse (left for right and right for left). He said he thought they had checked the trailer. They checked my new hitch with two of their own devices at that time and the signal coming from my end was good. So there was a problem before AND after leaving Norco Trailers with the trailer.
The next day, I talked with Tony on the phone in the late afternoon. He said he'd tried to call me earlier but couldn't leave a voicemail. I told him that I was having my mechanic check out the trailer, my Jeep, and the new hitch and that I'd let him know if there was anything unusual. He said okay. When my mechanic got back to me with what the problem had been, I emailed Tony and asked him to reimburse the $100 that it cost to fix the ground problems in the trailer and I forwarded the receipt. There were NO problems with the Jeep or the new hitch. The problem was completely in the trailer.
Tony yelled at me and said that the mechanic was a liar and he had the same problem before! He refused to reimburse me and said that he was going to report the mechanic. Tony was completely out of line and unprofessional. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
By the way, I was also informed, by Tony's daughter, that there was a problem with the paperwork and it had to be redone when I came in to pick up the trailer. The purchase date changed to the pickup date. They had plenty of time to check this trailer but apparently did not, even though they knew it was sold and would be on the road. Epic fail here folks.
OLD POST: I saw of great posts so I may give them a chance at my business. I contacted Norco Trailers based on an ad on their website for a used trailer. I'm looking for something to move some furniture from my 84 year old mom's house in Oregon and I've been pricing new and used trailers and also have cash to bargain with (I don't know if that makes a difference anymore...lol). A person at Norco Trailers was GREAT about emailing me back to answer my questions. A+ there!! When I called there was static on the other end of the line and I had to try again later. Once I got through, I asked for the person I'd been emailing with and mentioned the trailer that I was interested in. Here's were it gets funny and I don't know if I should just laugh (because it is funny in an ironic way), appreciate the honesty, or just sit with this knot in my stomach.
After all of the questions were answered I asked if they would drop the price, slightly, for cash on this used trailer. Most places will if they know you're very interested and I'm not saying that a business isn't entitled to make as much money as they can...but...the answer was that, "...the price of steel just went up and that trailer is attracting a lot of calls and generating business..." so no, the price would not come down.
Well, that kind of hurts. I thanked her for her honesty but really...this is one time I wish the person had made up a compelling story! I say that tongue in cheek, of...
Read moreGood people, great service and the perfect product. Well worth the 350 mile drive.
I had a few very specific requirements for a new enclosed trailer and was having a hard time locating anything that fit the bill. After shopping every trailer sales place within 50 miles of home (San Joaquin county) I opened google maps and literarily clicked on every trailer sales place I could find starting in Chico and working south. Finally found everything I was looking for at Norco Trailers and gave them a call. Britney was great help over the phone and helped me get the entire purchase process done online and over the phone. She was quick to respond to questions over text and email and held the trailer for a week based on my word alone that I was really making the drive the next weekend to come buy it.
All the paperwork was ready for me and they got me out of there and on my way home in under an hour. Britney and the folks at the yard even helped me deal with a small issue (nothing to do with the trailer) after I left even though they were in no...
Read moreNot sure if this is the place we rented. But if so it was overall a good experiance. They were friendly and had plenty of different sizes in the moving trucks. As well as, pick-up trucks and carpool/delivery van's. And if you need moving supplies or carts, hand-trucks in several different sizes also furniture ones with straps, and moving blankets. I would most definitely highly recommend this place for all your moving needs it the k they also offer storage units. All their rentals and equipment clean and new, like just off the dealers lot. I will most definitely use them again and recommend them everyone I know. Thanks for the...
