This was my 1st experience with purchasing an item from Big Lots and it wasn't a rewarding one. I ordered an item online from a store that was about 30 minutes away. When I travelled over to pick it up the employee in that department seemed confused about an order for that day and then asked if I was Sean and pulled a crumpled up piece of paper from the garbage can. The employee then told me that the item I was looking for wasn't in their inventory and that I would not be charged. Although I wasn't extremely upset I thought that the situation could have been handled better. I could have been saved a thirty minute drive and the cost of the gas for the drive if I were contacted rather than having my information crumpled into a ball and thrown away. This single situation would not stop me from shopping from Big Lots in the future. Read moreThe service here is good and everyone here is friendly. But the products not so much in terms of prices — I came here to find garden soil, tools and a plant pot. I really thought at first I was getting a good deal and that the prices would be cheaper than the national big box stores. Wrong! I looked and Walmart had the exact same garden soil for much cheaper. The tool is actually cheaper at Lowe’s and Home Depot considering the price difference (not much), and it being a well known brand of tool while the one here is just some off-brand tool. The plant pot is cheaper there too. I’d like to come here again but only if the prices go down. The “automatic” door here is also broken, hasn’t been working for years now. Read moreFor the love of God do not shop at this Big Lots . The blonde female manager there is racist and shouldn't be working with any customers. She left security tags on garments I purchased there. When I returned to have them removed, I expected some compensation or very least an apology because I needed to wear the garment at an event and was unable to do so. Instead I was berated by the manager and told she would not remove the security tag . She called me an idiot for expecting some sort of an apology. Saying it happens often and "so what" I was inconvienced. I had to call the police because I purchased an item and unable to use it . How Big Lots has her as a manager is beyond me.
