Little Creek Diner — Restaurant in Norfolk

Went to go take my dad out to brunch for his birthday, and we waited almost an hour and a half for our food. While waiting, I tried to get our servers attention many times, only to be ran past and ignored. For an hour, nobody checked on us. When I was finally able to stop a different server and tell them we’ve been waiting an hour, after about two minutes our server pops up and tells us “oh the food is coming off the grill right now”. What really happened was they had forgotten to put our order in to the chef, and instead of just being honest they lied to us. I know people mess up and that’s okay, but a simple check on the table would’ve kept this from being over an hour wait. The sheer negligence and incompetence of the staff was horrendous. After the waitress told us the food would be right out, another 15 minutes passed by before we got anything. The orders were wrong and plated sloppily, and only got an inkling of an apology once we had our food. I ordered corned beef hash and it came out almost the same way it does right out of the can, it’s like they heated it up in a microwave. The eggs were not over easy, just straight up not cooked. The pancakes were mealy, and the bacon pieces were very very small. The bill came out to over 100$ for four people, when no item on the menu exceeds 20$. We had to go up front to pay our check because nobody would check on us. I’ve never been one to not tip, and this was the first time I had ever left 0 on a check. This place was awful, and the service was so terrible we all left the establishment feeling exhausted. I would never recommend this place to anybody. What a god awful experience. Food was bad. Place was cramped and we were scared to have food dumped on us by the servers, as they have nowhere to really walk. And the service was abysmal. Truly disappointed...

This is exactly the type of place that you want to go to if you want an excellent Diner experience!" Real food cooked by real people for real people!" In my opinion this is the place that Guy Fieri should have gone to instead of the other places that he went in the Norfolk area because this was absolutely amazing! The service was amazing the food was perfect it was exactly what you want when you order an item on the menu! It looked exactly like what I hope and dreamed it would! I was even told i was beautiful by the awesome Lady that runs the place!💙💙💙Her daughter is the cook and I have to say....I've been a chef 30 years and this young lady is THE SUPER REAL DEAL! GAWWWWWWD THE FOOD WAS PERFECT! YOU ARE AN AMAZING CHEF MA'AM! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! ...and for anyone wanting REAL food in a REAL atmosphere run by THE REALEST OF THE REAL PEOPLE!!! The food was just ok. Not bad. Not great. The parking is horrendous. The layout of the diner needs to be reworked (the placement of the tables and chairs). It was so cramped and crowded. My left arm had the ability to hit another person in the back at another table. I felt like the man was in my lap while I was eating. When I finished eating, I had to wait to get up because I couldn't get out of my chair. The place had a dark and dirty look to it. The portions weren't all that big, and the food took a while to come out. Granted, it was a busy Sunday morning, so I'll take that into consideration. The staff seemed to be very friendly with people who appeared to be regulars. My server seemed too busy and annoyed when I didn't have my order decided fast enough.
