We wandered into Sky European Gourmet Store while waiting for a table at the breakfast place a couple doors down—and I'm so glad we did.

The owner was incredibly kind and took real time to chat with us, offering thoughtful suggestions and answering all our curious questions about the amazing variety of Eastern European snacks and foods. She gave us samples and was so welcoming to me and my two daughters.

We left with a great little haul—cheeses, unique drinks, dried salami, and snacks—and she even offered to hold everything and keep it cold while we went to eat next door. That kind of personal, boutique-style service is rare these days.

But tucked into this cozy little corner of West Norman, it’s still going strong.

One of the best European grocery stores in the South, with an impressive selection of fish and meat products, dairy, desserts, snacks, pickles, preserves and anything else, so dear to the heart of those who are originally used to the eastern European kind of food.. or just interested in trying it. Came in 8/17/2025 at 4:50pm (literally 10 minutes before they closed) and still received phenomenal customer service. I came in looking for the cold smoked mackerel fish that had gone viral on tik tok. The owner is so sweet and knowledgeable! She gave me specific instructions on how to eat it / how much to eat.
