I have been to Juan del Fuego many times. My go to item is the enchiladas and eggs for breakfast. Each time I’ve had these and the red sauce I find them the same tasty cheese enchiladas. Either hash browns or home fries are excellent. My wife had the omelet today and loved it. The food here is good and consistent in my experience.

I cannot remember previous service experiences as I am neutral on those before today. Today I found both servers to be less than friendly. They weren’t rude they were still professional and checked up on us regularly. I don’t always require an over the top bubbly server to serve me my breakfast. This is a diner, so expect diner service at a diner.

To the other reviewers giving 1 star. Rather than rip someone maybe just try making their day better. Servers are people they are allowed off days it’s a tough thankless business. If you want the best service from a server, you also need to be the best customer you can be to the server. It...

First time I stopped in. I had lunch by myself. Chips and salsa are extra. (Didn't want to pay extra). They didn't offer Sopapillas so I'm guessing it wasn't part of the meal. Ordered the shredded pork tamales with refried beans and rice. Got beans that, while they weren't the black beans, weren't smooth like regular refried. The beans and rice were 70% of the plate and bland. But the worst part was the size of the two tamales. About 5 inches long and 1 inch thick. My fork was wider than they were tall. (And they use small forks). Meager offering for a $15.64 lunch, including a 20% tip and only water to drink. I ate everything and went away hungry! That's not supposed to happen in a good Mexican restaurant. Maybe their breakfasts are better but myself and my family won't be going back. There are too many good Mexican restaurants were you don't feel like you could get a hotdog combo and pretzel from Sam's club afters...

This was some of the worst Mexican food I have ever had! I do not know how it has such a high rating. My husband and I went here on a lunch date on a Thursday afternoon after being told it’s one of the best places for Mexican food in Norman. We were seated at our table and ordered chips and salsa ($6.99); the salsa was watery and had no flavor, the chips were thick cut and had no flavor. I ordered beef tacos Mexicanos (street tacos 9.99). It was unseasoned ground beef! I also ordered biscuits and gravy to try. Their gravy is white powdered gravy from a box and their biscuits were definitely nothing to write home about. My husband ordered chili verde chicken enchiladas. It was full of nothing but unflavored chunks of chicken rolled in a store bought flour tortilla topped with a flavorless green sauce. This place was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. I would have rather had a drive through taco place or...

🍳🥞BEST. OMELETS. EVER.🥞🍳 Whenever I visit Norman, this is my absolute favorite place to eat. Consistently savory. Friendly service. Delicious breakfast every time. Best of all: I get the pleasure of supporting a small business. Juan del Fuego serves generous portions, with plenty of sides, fillings, and sauces to keep you coming back to try different combinations. I love getting a side of pancakes with my omelet--a little bit of cakey sweetness with a little bit of skillet-greased egg. You can select from a variety of pre-prepared options or create a customized order of your own (I can't ever say no to avocado on mine!). Juan del Fuego is happy to cater to your personal preferences. Fans of breakfast food, especially: don't drive past this one! It's an absolute hidden gem.

The food was good and our waitress Olivia was great. The only gripe that I have is regarding the redhead at the cash register. My friend and I declined to sit at the counter and preferred to wait for a table instead. When a table did become available, the redhead decided to allow guests who arrived noticeably after us to be seated first because she was clearly annoyed that we did not want to sit at the counter. When a second table became available, we had to confront the redhead to ensure that we got seated. It definitely put a damper on our first experience at this restaurant. She is the reason that this rating is only 3 stars.
