I like coming here for the specialty bakery on sale items. In October of course you will find pumpkin everything everywhere. Once it comes out I like to wait a week and see the things that didn't sell so fast and they are usually marked down. This gives me a chance to try out new items for 1/3-1/2 the price. For example I tried some pumpkin no bake cookies at half price and they were not my cup of tea. Next my son spotted a pumpkin roll log....it was so delicious that gone the same day. Some times we stop in there and nothing is marked down but that's ok to just browse. I generally grab some on sale fruit or veggies when that happens. Also if you want a time passer when you are waiting for little Caesars pizza you can be in and out of here by the time your order is ready or sooner. The lines are never long when I go in and they have people to bag your order while the cashier rings it up...i think that has something to do with it as I'm always pleased. Seeing it's the only grocery store in town, unless you plan on taking a 10 minute drive it is convenient. The prices on some items are high but if you can just go in there for what you need it doesn't seem that...
Read moreWhile I rarely go anywhere else to buy my meat--prices can't be beat on sale items, and I often plan my menu around what meat is on sale--the customer service in this store needs a lot of work. I brought back an item I bought earlier in the evening because there was mold on it. The young lady at the service desk didn't even acknowledge me, and only looked up from what she was doing when the cashier and stock man got her attention. When I explained what I needed, I was met with, "I'm sorry. The service desk closes at 9." I questioned why I couldn't bring something back that clearly has mold on it, and made a comment about their customer service. As I was on my way out the door, the young lady tried to get my attention. But I was not listening anymore. This isn't the first time I've been treated this way at this store. Just the first time I've been angry enough to say something. For the most part, I have a decent shopping experience at this store. Their prices are a bit steep, but I often buy sale items. I might be more inclined to shop more often if their customer service improved. Instead, I'll drive 7 miles out of my way to shop cheaper prices at...
Read moreFirstly let's be honest; Sander's is expensive by other grocery store standards. That being said, they have delicious ready made hot and cold foods, salads, Sandwiches, cakes, doughnuts, cookies, ect. They also carry flavors of my favorite brands/products that I cannot find anywhere else - such as Starbucks Vanilla Iced Coffee and Watermelon flavored Propel Water Packets. To top all that off, they have some of the friendliest cashiers, baggers, and staff I've ever had the pleasure to meet. So yes, I acknowledge they're expensive but the quality of their staff and their in-house made food & bakery items are a...
