Located in a quant sleepy town along the interstate, it’s a unattended museum during the weekdays. Free to come and go. My son loves trains and loved the museum. They have lots of older decommissioned trains and engines sitting around that you can look around and explore. Obviously do so with some caution since there’s no one there during the weekdays days and the trains are run down and can be hazardous for younger children. There’s also live tracks right next to the museum where both csx and ns runs through, and I think Amtrak too. Great for photos since the fence there is quite low. About 1-2 trains per hour passes through. Overall awesome place for anyone and children who loves trains. Lots to explore while waiting for trains to pass by. No bathroom onsite. Museum do have outdoor seating and...

This train museum is definitely worth a visit when you take a trip to North East, PA. Especially for those trains lovers. Not only you can check out these older-version trains, it is also a perfect place to watch the trains in used as well. There is a little gift shop that offers a cool merch from cute key chains, post cards to the train operating manuals, not to mention a knowledgeable and friendly staff who would give you an in-dept details about the train history. Would recommend this train museum for a fun family day. There is no wait to enter, as well as no fee, though the donation is recommended in order for them to keep this...

A great spot to see mainline action, inspect locomotives and cars, and explore former railroad grounds that include separate passenger and freight depots. The collection is primarily diesel-era locomotives and passenger cars with some vintage equipment mixed in. You can climb aboard many locomotives and some cars, visit the passenger depot turned museum, and walk the grounds. Volunteers are friendly and leave you alone or engage in conversation if you like. The site is a former railroad ground and wasn't altered much, giving you a more accurate feel of railroading at the expense of...
