i bought a panda cory to add to my fishtank with two other cory's i already had as well as a few tetras. the first panda cory i bought died within a day, so i thought that one might've been sick. without examining the fish closely i buried it. i should've known better, but i went back and bought another. i've never once had a problem with water quality in my tank until i added the panda cory's. not even a week after adding the second, i noticed fin rot on its dorsal fin and it's back fin. i tested the water quality and it was perfect. i seperated it from the rest and did a deep clean of my tank, while cleaning i noticed that 3 of my other fish had begun to be affected by the fin rot. one of my neon tetras that i've had for almost a year also died within a day presumably due to sickness and stress of being seperated from its school. i'm now treating both tanks, one with the remaining tetras and the other with my cory's that have fin rot. when i went to petco to buy a filter for my second tank that my cory's are being treated in, i explained my situation to one of the workers. she completely disregarded my concern of fin rot coming from the tank that the panda corys are kept in and proceeded to sell me the wrong filter. this isn't the first time i've had problems with this petco. i was asked to bring in a water sample when buying a crayfish for a seperate tank months ago and previously they had refused to sell the crayfish to me. you would think if these workers are concerned about who they're selling these fish to that maybe they would at least clean their tanks. after this experience i will never be buying a fish from petco again. the tanks are always disgusting looking, i should've known better when buying my fish from here. i would not recommend buying fish from here if you don't have the time to deal with problems like this that might arise from their previous...
Read moreThe grooming department is unreliable. We have three dogs. They canceled/rescheduled our grooming appointment 3 times in the span of two weeks. First time it was a reschedule for two of our dogs, due to only one specific groomer having experience with standard poodles. Second time we show up to our appointment for one of our dogs only to be told that the groomer called out. No one called us to notify us. The GM, who was new to the store , did not have good things to say about what he had gathered about the store, implying chaos. The third time we received a text message only the night (improvement from last week) late night notifying us of the cancellation. Our appointment was in the morning the next day. I called the store immediately before close to ask why and the associate that answer got smart with me as if I was bothering her. She said called customer service to complain because she can’t do anything about it. The groomer, same as before, is now out on injury. Ok things happen (in a week apparently) but why wait til almost close time to notify customers. And we were already frustrated that we haven’t been able to get our dogs groomed a week ago. Read moreMany awful experiences with the NK Petco. We made our dogs initial grooming appt went on the correct date and they rescheduled our dogs appt four weeks out without telling us. Today four weeks later we bring our sweet elderly schnauzer to be groomed. She was very nervous and had diarrhea outside the establishment which we apologized for and the woman repeatedly said it was okay she was there to get cleaned up anyway, great! We left feeling okay. Not even an hour later we get a call saying they can’t groom our dog because of the diarrhea and that she was matted. Before we even left Petco we had the groomer look at her to make sure she could shave through the matting. Unfortunately our dogs original owner passed away unexpectedly so she was handed down to us and we didn’t know when to have her groomed and this was the soonest we could get. We’ve been bathing and brushing her at home. There was absolutely no excuse to make this valid. We picked up our girl and half of her back was shaved right down (not what we asked for) .
