PT1: It pains me to be the first negative review because I came in with such high hopes and enthusiasm to begin my treatment with Dr. Jones and the Esteem staff. At no point do I want to take away from Dr. Jones’ capabilities, as he may have many success stories, however, he provided a major disservice to me.

Our initial consultation went well, but it quickly went left after that. I was notified that I would need a unique customized device that, to this day, I’m unsure he’s had previous experience with. It had to be specially made and took quite awhile to arrive to the office. I understand unforeseen circumstances, but the office continued to schedule my appointments before the device arrived. This caused me to rearrange my schedule only for the appointments to be canceled the same day. Wasted time to say the least and they never once apologized or offered an explanation as to what was going on at the time. Why not schedule based on the actual arrival of the item?

With prior commitments coming up, and more than a month since my initial appointment for this device, I knew that I couldn’t continue to reschedule. So I called and asked if it had reached the office and I was assured by the office assistant Rachel that it did. I asked several times before letting her know that I need to come in because the temporary spacers they put in my mouth were starting to pop. She went ahead and scheduled me for two days later.

I arrive at the scheduled time and the office was CLOSED. I called Rachel and she wasn’t even on the premises. When she arrived she told me she’s glad I called because she was out running errands. She never once apologized for the inconvenience or the mishap and acted as if I was disturbing her day.

I was livid but to add insult to injury, Dr. Jones was nowhere in sight. Rachel proceeded to replace the temporary spacers. At this point I wasn’t sure what was going on. I asked her if I was getting the device installed and she said no, Dr. Jones isn’t even in the country. Blank stare. I don’t like to cause scenes so I left without addressing it but I realized when I got to the parking lot that I needed to.

So I called the office phone and expressed my frustrations only for her to tell me she never told me that I would be getting the device installed and that’s not something she would have said because Dr. Jones isn’t even in the country. I asked her why would I agree to come in if he wouldn’t be present and why would I confirm if the device was in office if I didn’t think it would be installed? She still refused to apologize and only did so after I got a little frustrated. However, it was a half apology with her stating ‘She’s sorry that I misunderstood’. Gaslighting to say the least.

It doesn’t end there. More time passes and I ended up having an unrelated medical emergency and had to be hospitalised. I kept them posted along the way. As soon as I was able to return I did, but only had the spacers replaced ONCE AGAIN.

FINALLY I was scheduled for the installation and to say that visit was tramautizing is an understatement. It had been quite some time since the consultation and the process of the installation was never explained. I did not understand how invasive it would be nor did Dr. Jones greet me or explain the procedure that day. I didn’t know it required me being numbed by a needle until 5 minutes before. He essentially came and just started stabbing my gums with the needle. Then he installed the device which was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever been in. He was cold and dismissive during the process. I told him it hurt really bad and he said, it didn’t hurt I was just feeling pressure. I had my mom filming because I originally wanted to make TikToks to document my process but ultimately I was able to catch him in a few lies later on. I also brought either my husband or my mom to each visit...

I’ve been seeing Dr. Jones for almost a year now and I can’t say that I’m completely satisfied, in particular with his office staff and his bedside manners. My consultation was not pleasant, his secretary had a not so friendly attitude when asking questions about my treatment. At my third or so visit, Dr. Jones installed a tongue thrasher on my bottom teeth. Over that weekend it was hard to eat/drink and they were uncomfortable so I went in the following week to have them removed. Well, Dr. Jones only removed a small amount of the bracket glue, I could still feel the glue on my teeth. My next appointment, I advised Dr. Jones of the glue, he said he didn’t see any glue and that was that...I felt crazy thinking maybe it was in my mind. I had to go to my dentist to have the glue removed, he was is in disbelief that so much glue had been left behind. Next braces appointment, the assistant, by accident clipped a small piece of wire that went down my throat…that night I felt sick. I advised Dr. Jones of what happened at my next visit, he basically ignored what I was saying to him. Would I recommend Dr. Jones at this point, no. I’ve gone into his office to see unclean floors and equipment…and maybe that’s my OCD talking. Service is quick, no real wait time and because of the hospital, my teeth are improving, parking can be a pain. Needless to say…it’s one bill that I can’t wait...
