Barefoot Love was the third course we played after Grand Dunes and TPC myrtle respectively. It was a major disappointment unfortunately. Keep in mind, Barefoot love was $175 a person, while TPC and Geand dunes were $165 a person. While Grand dunes and tpc were in prestine condition, Barefoot was dry as a desert and you’d have to search to find any grass. Tee boxes were torn apart, and no complimentary tees, or towels like other clubs provide. All photos attached are fairways, or tee boxes. The rough at TPC was twice as nice as the fairway at Barefoot, for less money. On top of that, after letting the clubhouse know we though it was a little disappointing maybe needs some more water, they said “I played the other day and it’s perfectly fine” and “you’re the only person to ever say that but feel free to fill out a paper.” The photo with a turkey is a TPC tee box for reference. Even the rough around the tee box is nicer than the fairway at Barefoot. Complete waste of money for $175 a person.

Nice course that was in good shape. Pin placements were brutal with at least half of them on a crest or ridge right where the green dropped off into a collection area. I played here years ago, but the greens seem smaller now. They are tiny targets, but rolled nice and true. Probably slightly better than a 4 star but not up to a 5. I would play again.

We enjoyed playing this golf course as it can be challenging, picturesque, and fun for all levels of golfers.

Our experience at Barefoot’s Love course was just mediocre (which is sad as an owner of rentals here in NMB where we’d love to direct our guests to the Barefoot courses). I’ll start with the positives, as it’s not fair to condemn without noting that as well.

The course: It’s beautiful. Well designed—manageable but challenging. The cart paths were hit and miss in terms of GPS accuracy (there were a few times where we were on the path but it thought we weren’t which led to a lot of confusion). Overall though, beautiful holes.

Tee time management: Horrible planning on behalf of the resort. We were sold a 12:55 tee time for full price ($167). We were right on pace to finished at 4 hours and 30 minutes when we were prompted to skip the last few holes because the carts “had to be in by 5 pm”. A few issues with this:

  1. This 5 pm deadline to bring carts in was never communicated to us ahead of time, and it’s frankly moot considering we still had daylight left (we finished right at 5:25)
  2. Why on earth would Barefoot sell a tee time 4 hours and 5 minutes before carts needed to be turned in when it’s well known and published on the website that the pace is 4 hours and 30 minutes?

I’m not looking for a rebuttal nor am I looking for credits or money in any way. I just want to deliver some constructive feedback to either:

Stop selling tee times 4 hours and 30 minutes ahead of 5 if that’s your true cut off.

OR

If you continue to sell tee times past that window, offer them for reduced rates

I decided to make this post public because your patrons should be careful about when they book tee times with Barefoot resorts until this issue is resolved and...

Played there today the three of my nephews. Teed off 7:50am(ish) from th time we pulled to the bag drop to checking in with the Golf Professionals at the front counter Mrs Connie at the Breakfast dining room. I have not had that pleasant of an experience in a while. We played well under 4 hours saw beverage cart 4-5 times. Saw starter/player assistance 6 time refilling our ice water. And the greens, tee boxes and fairways were a 10 out of 10. I’m not sugarcoating shitneither it was EXCELLENT. CANT WAITNTO GO BACK. That staff needs to train alot of these other places on how to treat people who work all year for one particular golf trip and thanks to them my nephews and my self were treated like kings and PLEASE DONT FORGET TO TIP THE BAG DROP GUYS AND Early inherit hen is or should be the net iron chef. Best quesadilla I...
