I suppose this theater does have appeal....at first. It has the cheapest concessions around. However....
Theater floors are always sticky and countless gum/candy wads stuck to the floor. The theaters don't smell clean or smell of throw-up or some other similarly unbearable smell, and many of the screens have dirty spots (some even have tape-covered tears) on them that are distracting if you are sitting within the first 3/4 of the rows. Garbages smell sour and the theater just reeks of poor cleanliness and lazy management. Theater seats are broken and falling apart, edges of peeling carpet squares are likely to trip you up, and the heating/cooling system works poorly at best. If you visit any of the two stadium theaters during the winter, bring your bathing suit and sweatbands! You'll need them!
The surround sound systems in these theaters are also quite terrible. At the MegaPlex, for example, in the opening clips before the movie starts, there are always clips showing off the technology in the theater (surround sound, very vivid images, etc.). Well, they sound terrible (sounds like the sub woofers are gone in every theater and the majority of the sounds come from center screen). At MegaPlex, you are rumbled deep in your chest during those demonstrations. Walker Cinemas has more the speaker quality of a $20 boom-box. Granted they have "upgraded to digital," but they didn't upgrade the sound systems and thus you have a nice image with mediocre sound. So if you're planning on having a great movie night with your money, spend the little extra and get the full, high-quality experience. Avoid Walker Cinemas.
Now for the service - you find livelier employees at a morgue. Most of my friends and family agree the service is terrible.
Now for the elephant in the room...cheapest concessions around. There's a good reason for that. The uncleanliness of this theater is outright disgusting. Employees who handle food do so without washing hands or wearing gloves, and the majority of them do not hold food-handler's permits. On many occasions I have found "lint" floating in my soda. I have seen various times where employees have given a refill to a person where they scooped up the ice WITH THE CUP, instead of the ice-scoop. I don't know about you, but I certainly decided then and there that concessions are cheap because they are frankly handled in a nasty way.
Their ticket prices also leave a lot to be desired. They have premium ticket prices but none of the premium services that should come with those ticket prices. You can spend $7 to sit in a small, smelly theater with terrible sound and broken chairs, or you can spend the extra $1.75 and sit in a clean, great-sounding theater in a nice, high-backed chair. If movie nights are an occasion, why not make it the best?
My advice? Spend the extra buck or two to go to a nicer theater (and go to the store and buy candy - why spend $5 for a $1 box of candy??). You'll get better service, cleaner facilities, and employees who have actually been trained how to handle food properly and cleanly.
This theater went down-hill after the original...
Read moreIt's an okay theatre to go to watch movies. Concessions aren't that great and so is the size of your drink and popcorn compared to other movie theatres I've been to so that was a bit of a disappointment. I felt like the sizing of the popcorn and drink was a size smaller compared to other movie theatres I've been to and have bought concessions. The popcorn was cold and some popcorn was soggy (wet texture in your mouth when you eat it; felt kind of gross, lol).
As per usual, not a lot of leg space between rows of seats, so be prepared for your legs to feel cramped up at the end of the movie.
The restrooms were definitely not maintained. In 80% of the stalls, it was dirty and seems like nobody flushes the toilet. It's hard to say whether the employees lack the care to upkeep the restroom or there was a crazy amount of people who didn't care to flush the toilet after they did their business. The amount to go in one stall after another only to see that people didn't flush the toilet after they are done doing their business is not as thrilling. Yet, who knows? Maybe the toilet has an issue and doesn't flush all the way.
All in all, I prefer Brigham City Walker Cinema than this one. Just because at least I know their location is decently maintained...
Read moreI would like to personally THANK Patti and Dave “the tech guy” for making my dreams come true. On July 21st, I proposed to my girlfriend at Walker Cinemas, where we had our first date. I contacted Patti and asked if It was possible I could propose to my girlfriend and play the movie I made for her on the big screen. Patti quickly emailed me back and was very excited and eager to help. Patti was able to arrange a time for me to have only close friends and family in the theatre to watch the proposal. She got in touch with Dave “the tech guy” who reached out to me. I could tell Dave really wanted to help. He worked with me and spoke to me every other day to make sure everything worked out smoothly. The day of the proposal, Dave made sure the trailers were playing right on time when she came into find her seat. The movie played without any malfunctions thank goodness. She was surprised. She said yes! Everything turned out perfect!! I couldn’t have done it without the help of those two! Thank you so much for everything! My girlfriend and I love this theatre and will continue to come back for our...
