Have been wanting to go to this place for a while but live 30 plus miles away. Finally made it in tonight. Walked in the door looking around at the atmosphere and looked towards the menu where the workers were chatting and one was sitting on top of the counter in the kitchen area. She hopped down quickly and walked away. The male worker came up and greeted us. He was pleasant and helpful pointing out the flavor wall with pictures since we had never been in. We started to order. Sadly they were out of waffle cones and only had one waffle bowl left. We originally came in for shakes however it was expensive in our opinion for only a 16oz shake so we ordered ice cream. They have an inviting sitting area with a nice fireplace burning. We wandered around while waiting for our ice cream. They called our name and we went to pick up our ice cream order. It was at this point we were told that they were out of one of the flavors we ordered and were asked to select a different flavor. 🙄 We ended up taking our ice cream on the go as we were heading to a friend's house. The ice cream was good although I really wanted what I ordered and not what I got. I broke a few pieces off the waffle bowl to eat as I ate my ice cream and noticed that it really didn't have a good flavor. The more I ate it the more I wondered why I was eating it? Then I realized the strange flavor. The waffle bowl was burnt on the bottom, the burnt area was folded under so you couldn't see it. At this point I just threw it away. I'll also point out that this was 7pm on a Saturday night when they are open until 10:30pm. Out of waffle cones, out of waffle bowls since I got the last burnt one, and out of the ice cream flavor I ordered. I mean, it's an ice cream shop. Silly me for thinking I could go there and get a very common flavor of ice cream in a waffle cone. Lesson learned! ...
Read morePretty pricey. 😬 We tried the Mud Pie, Carrot Cake, Easter Basket Explosion, and Raspberry Brownie. Also had some of the Banana Cream Pie shake. All felt too thick, except the shake was extremely runny. The Carrot Cake felt more like frozen store bought Carrot Cake with a little bit of ice cream mixed into it...so more of a soggied down carrot cake from ice cream and partly refrozen. The Mud Pie had flavors that were off and didn't quite pair up well...they mentioned it was supposed to be a coffee flavor base, but it definitely was not anywhere near that. The Easter Basket Explosion needed the whoppers and Cadbury eggs ground or crushed up more considering it's hard to bite into and our teeth got the pain chewing through frozen candies..also the coconut base was quite rich, I was expecting a lot less of that flavoring. The Raspberry Brownie had a good dark brownie taste to the bites, can't complain about that, but do expect random bursts of extremely tart raspberries. The Banana Cream Pie shake was too liquidy-felt more like drinking flavored milk... I was expecting something a lot thicker in consistency, especially for the higher price....the chunks of pie and banana pieces were impossible to get out with the straw even though the straw was a thick one.
Overall...Less of an "ice cream consistency" in the ice creams and more of a thickened frozen dessert style. Especially since everything pulled apart like an elasticy-style texture. For the milk shake...it's definitely more of a milk consistency with chunks to work around at the bottom...get a spoon? But even the spoons are really short.
Quite pricey!!! $3 for a small...$4.75 for two scoops/two flavors..(more $$$ for more scoop cups combos))...$6 for the MILK shake. Probably a once in a blue moon type of trip if you are looking for something that's a really rich frozen dessert treat, instead of an ice...
Read moreI have been wanting to try Cannery Creamery for a long time. I live an hour away, so I finally got to the chance to try it. Unfortunately, it was highly disappointing!
First of all, it was so confusing trying to figure out where to park. I don’t even know if I parked in the right place or not so I just parked across the street. And then when we walked in, they only had six flavors and one Italian ice flavor. When we went to order two Italian ice cups they said they only had enough for one small. The flavors that they had available were really boring so I ended up just getting a vanilla sundae. But they didn’t even have any regular toppings like hot fudge or caramel so I opted to get Oreos, chocolate chips, and caramel bits. That was a bad idea. I don’t know why they offer chocolate chips and caramel bits because they got hard as a rock. The ice cream tasted very average.
This whole experience was so disappointing. It was hard to find the bathrooms, and they still had fall decorations up in January. Just because it’s January doesn’t mean people don’t want a good variety of ice...
