Went to get a battery replaced for my mother’s watch. Upon arriving, the door was locked and one needs to be buzzed in—completely understandable for a jewelry store. The female inside clearly saw me and appeared completely indifferent to my presence at the door. The glare of the sun on the windows made it very hard for me to see what was going on inside, but it was 5 minutes before I was inside. Once Inside, the same woman did not even acknowledge me. No smile, no hello, no how can we help you? I had to follow her from display case to display case before she finally deemed me worthy of a glance long enough for me to say I was there to get a battery replaced. She took my watch and told me the jeweler was working on another watch. I said that was fine. I was just going to pop next door to Starbucks if that was okay. “We close at 3,” she admonished (25 minutes from then). I said that was no problem. I would be right back. Not only did she make me feel completely unwelcome, but she managed to make me feel as if the service I was requesting was an imposition. When I returned 10 minutes later, she was standing behind the register. I went up to the register thinking perhaps she would offer to ring me out given that the store would be closing in 10 minutes and given that the jeweler was still working on my mother’s watch. Not only did she not offer to ring me out, she looked through me as if I were invisible. Like I wasn’t even there. Not acknowledging me at all. The jeweler, himself, was pleasant. He engaged in some discussion about the watch in question and worked harder than might be typical because the screws were worn. He then thanked me as I left. I fully recognize that a $10.00 battery replacement hardly makes or breaks their business. But, even the smallest of transactions is an opportunity to forge a long retail relationship. I will never return...
Read moreI had been searching for a jeweler that had some nice boutique designers in their inventory for a gift for my adult daughter. The ladies were very helpful in guiding me to some local New York artists and I found the selection to be fantastic. I just moved back to the area after 10 years away and was looking for a jeweler to use as my go to. I had some questions on resizing of some antique jewelry and evaluating whether or not sizing was possible et cetera. The engagement ring was unsizable and actually broken but the wedding band is. I don't want to go into details here but Ben and his team were able to help me design, manufacture and turn around a beautiful piece of jewelry in a very short period of time. I found them trustworthy reasonably priced and knowledgeable. Just as in FYI, I was in the store when the person who just left a one star review was in. That is not how it went down. Ben was concerned and the ladies tried to be helpful, but the customer was unconsolable. She was actually a bully know it all. I had such a good experience that they are now working on a separate...
Read moreExcellent service and quality repair! The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. My wedding band had been previously repaired in a former store across the road. It was again in need of repair. The ring has a rose gold core and silver insert. The insert was not completely tacked down in the previous repair and was starting to slip over one side worn down from years of weight training with it on. I was sure because of the way the ring was worn the entire core would need to be replaced. Ben assured me he could make the repair and the insert would never move. He did a fabulous job with the repair and polished the ring so it looks completely new. I could not be more pleased with...
