First time going to this mission but it will probably be the last. Maybe bad timing but wasn't much impressed with the selection and the prices are worse than some of the more greedy Goodwills and also on par with antique shop prices. They had a hit an miss of various items at an affordable price like these kitchen chairs I was interested in buying but they didn't have the whole set. They wanted 9.99 for a chipped up pottery bowl, $12 for a worn duffle bag, and 3 for five dollar Paparazzi jewelry! There was also a glass decanter they wanted $20 for when months back I found a brand new Crystal one at Macy's, on clearance for the same price! $6 for half or more worn shoes( no matter what name brand), purses also looked worn for the prices, clothing was about the same price as other thrift shops, I didn't have much time to poke around in clothing. I don't remember the City Mission in downtown Canonsburg being so high priced but perhaps that's changed as well, hopefully not. Also noticed some items with ebay marked on them, not sure if it's the shop themselves or left over from donation's that didn't sell. Only giving two stars and that's for the few hit and miss affordable items. Very...
Read moreThis is now my exclusive thrift store for many reasons and I recommend it to everyone compared to the other more well-established thrift stores in the Canonsburg/McMurray area.
They have a large selection of baby and children items including books of all ages (including board books), strollers, high chairs, toys and baby clothes separated from toddler clothes and organized by size.
The adult clothing is all color coordinated making it easy to look through. The store even has a unique section of items like birthday cards and yarn.
Whoever organizes this store is a rockstar and it is always clean. Look for the colored tags on discounted days and I always find great finds for very...
Read moreI don’t usually shop at thrift stores, but I was hunting for a small, inexpensive wall shelf. To my surprise, the first thing I saw when I walked in was a big display of Halloween decorations. What really caught my eye was a pumpkin I had bought from Target’s Bullseye Dollar Spot just two years ago for $5. Out of curiosity, I checked the tag, and this thrift store was selling the exact same item for $6.99. It’s disappointing to see a place that’s supposed to offer affordable finds charging more than retail, especially on items that came from a bargain section...
