I recently went here with my husband who also shares my love for antiquing. I drive past this establishment twice weekly and had never gone in. From the road it just looks like one of those cute little roadside places you just can’t help but pull your car in and look around. I mentioned it to him and we went– we were not disappointed! One of the things I’ve noticed about antique shops in general is that they are either empty almost to the point of being barren, or they are jammed packed full– claustrophobic. A few however, are in the happy medium where they are not overflowing to the point of overwhelming the visitor, but also not totally devoid of stuff! This is one of those “happy medium” antique locations. It’s not a “5 minutes and I’m done looking” place. One could easily spend a few hours looking around. The owners were pleasant and friendly, we spoke about vintage kitchens and Christmas ornaments. We purchased some things for our kitchen and my husband bought a Christmas ornament reminiscent of his childhood. The prices here on the whole are fair for the quality (some undervalued). We will be returning in the near future to see what other oddities and antiques they have in store. If there is one thing I can say about the Route 19 Antique Mall, it’s that I highly recommend a visit if you’re interested...
Read moreDefinitely wasn't worth the 45-minute drive. More thrift store/yard sale than antiques with prices being really high. The service was extremely off-putting, and I couldn't help but feel like I was being treated differently from others who were there. Although two people looked me in the face upon entering, neither acknowledged me and simply looked away as I was about to say hello. No one ever asked if I needed any assistance in the hour I was there. At one point, I realized that one of the people working there was hovering nearby for a moment but quickly disappeared when I looked around. I did, however, find a couple of small things, and when I went to pay for them, I wasn't sure if I was even going to be spoken to. The man just looked at me as though he was surprised that I actually decided to buy something after being given the obvious cold shoulder. Very bizarre. They were almost cartoonishly gushing over other people as though they wanted to make it very clear that I was unwelcome. I definitely will not be returning. The only saving grace was finding a very lovely and professional shop down the street with...
Read moreThis place is great... if you want to be disrespected and insulted. This place has a wide variety and fair prices. However, the staff leaves much to be desired. One lady came up to me with the pretext of assisting me. I gladly asked for assistance when she suddenly (and rudely) yanked from my hands merchandise I wanted to buy. Being an elder, I tried to reason her behavior and patiently waited for the assistance I requested... she never came back. Imaginably, I felt a little "conspicuous". Unsure if I was just accused of having the potential to steal cheap "junk" as someone else called it, I spoke with the manager. Her answer? I should allow the disrespect on account of her being an elder... right. I enlightened her that had my reaction been different, it could precipitate a lawsuit. Her answer? "Why don't you just go talk to the owners?" So owners, please be aware of your staff. They are costing you business. I certainly will never go nor...
