So today I was shopping at Job Lot, they have lots of stuff I like to shop for, especially their pool opening stuff. Very reasonable prices for sure compared to the pool company next door. Well... I looked at my receipt when I got home to check out the price for one of the pool chemicals I purchased and noticed that one of the other items I purchased, a folding chair for $16.99 was charged $17.11? I looked at my other purchases and it appears they were all wrong. I looked further down the receipt and their was an explanation that Job Lot workers just got a $2/hr raise, and that all of our purchases were being surcharged 2% and was being given to the Job Lot Employee's Bonus Fund! After reading it, it said that I could have refused this surcharge, but I wasn't given the option to do so.
Why are we paying for Job Lot workers to work, when Job Lot just gave everyone one of those employees a $2/hr raise! I mean, I think people should be paid what they are worth, but why are consumers forced to pay for their bonus! Who's paying for ours!!
This isn't right Job Lot. We already are on a tight budget, we are choosing to purchase from you already, there is no reason why you should be sneaking a 2% increase to every purchase to benefit your employees. This should stop...

Other than that store is on a great location, clean a d organized, which is what should matter...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to the store in Whitinsville for quite some time and really love the deals and great prices. It's our 'go-to' place for many items! The only complaint I have is that one day we bought a long list of things and when we got home we checked the receipt, sensing that the bill was a bit high. Sure enough we were charged $15 for something we didn't recognize. I went back to the store and asked customer service what that item was and was told it was a 'hanging plant holder'. I told her we didn't purchase the item and wanted a refund of the amount that I paid for it. She was obliging without question. I believe an unscrupulous cashier tried to include it on our bill then pocket the overage. While I'm certainly not condemning the store, we still love it, my advice is to check your receipt whenever you make...
