Living and Learning Enrichment Center — Local services in Novi

Living & Learning Center in Northville, has been such a gift for our family. My son, Remington, has Down Syndrome and is nonverbal, and finding a place that truly sees him, understands him, and helps him grow in independence hasn’t always been easy. From the moment his mom connected with Living and Learning, she knew this was different and I’m so glad she found this place. It turned out to be one of the best things for him.

The staff are compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in each person’s success. They meet every individual where they are and help them build on real-life skills that matter, communication, confidence, daily routines, and social connection. It’s not just a program; it’s a community that treats every young adult with dignity, kindness, and respect.

I’ve seen Remington thrive here in ways that fill me with pride. Living and Learning provides a safe, supportive environment where he can continue to grow, learn, and experience life to the fullest. For any parent searching for a place that empowers their son or daughter to live with purpose and joy, I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

There are a few nice people here, but it is not so good in general. I got bullied a lot by other members when I was enrolled in this organizations Vocational program. I got along ok with most of their job coaches however, but, it seems to me that I don’t really get along with a lot of people here. On the plus side, I have made a few friends here. This place has no tolerance for special need individuals. After 4 years of going to this place, they said my autistic son can't go back because he has echolalia and he repeats everything he hears. They said he needs a behavior plan. After finding a psychologist and coming down with a behavior plan, they said he has to bring 1:1 with him in order to return!!!
