Mill Race Historical Village is a hidden gem in Northville, Michigan. This small village is home to a collection of restored and replica 19th-century buildings, including a schoolhouse, church, blacksmith shop, and general store. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the village or participate in one of the many special events that are held throughout the year.

I visited Mill Race Village on a sunny summer day and was immediately struck by its beauty. The village is located on the banks of the Rouge River and is surrounded by lush greenery. The buildings are all well-maintained and decorated with period furnishings.

I enjoyed exploring the different buildings in the village. In addition to the buildings, Mill Race Village also has a number of other attractions, including a gazebo, a playground, and a walking trail. There is also a small museum on the grounds that houses a collection of artifacts from...

I loved reading others reviews as it helped me understand what this place was all about. It was especially interesting to read that the buildings were moved here and not built from scratch in place and you can book events here. The outsides of the buildings were well maintained but all were closed for walking inside them on this crisp fall Sunday afternoon. Yet the gazebo lights were glowing so, of course, we took a picture there. The water fall and huge rocks and lake behind it were all so beautiful so if we weren't taking pictures of the buildings we took pictures of that. The falling leaves and walking paths and benches with couples and families posing for pictures were great for people watching. It was peaceful and so classy and bucolic. I imagine that every trip there would be a different experience based on the changing...

Mill Race Village in Northville is the perfect place to get married or celebrate a special event. In September of 2019, I married my husband in the quaint church at Mill Race and have absolutely no regrets! The grounds and historical buildings provide an enchanting, nostalgic feel while the gazebo and wooden bridge will be your photographer’s dream come true to capture your unforgettable wedding day moments. Our photos and wedding day at Mill Race were nothing short of a fairy tale, and our pictures within the church, on the bridge, in front of the schoolhouse, and on the gazebo were stunning. If you get married in the church, there is even a cozy downstairs room where you and your bridal party can get ready or do last minute touch ups! I highly recommend Mill Race for your special day and can’t say enough good things...

I drive by this park everyday and decided to stop. What a gem. One section has historical homes with posted information. Reminds me of a mini Greenfield Village. The path leads to a waterfall and lake, surrounded by gorgeous trees and beautiful homes. A brick walkway took me to a dirt path behind the buildings, along the river. From there a bridge led to a larger park containing a baseball field, asphalt paths for walking, running or biking, a playscape, a staircase leading to I don’t know where but will return to find out and a trail that extends beyond the park. I plan on returning to discover more. On the day I visited the village buildings were closed but I was still able to enjoy my stroll along the meandering paths.
