Went out to Bowling with my fiance for our date night...we love bowling and we go quite alot. We dont frequent this alley, but it is closer to our house so we tried tonight. We called ahead to see if they had lanes. Excited that they did, we went. Upon arriving the man behind the counter was kind of rude. Like he was annoyed we were coming in. He immediately tells my fiance he cant have his coffee, which is fine. We were prepared to leave it in the car. Next I asked for bumpers...(this is truly just a hobby for us, im not great at all, its just fun) The guy basically proceeds to shame me, mockingly asking us if we had a toddler in our group. (We had already told him it was just us) I said no, I am just not awesome in the arm strength department and Id prefer not to get a gutter ball half the game....he makes me feel really dumb for even asking telling me the bumpers are for small children only, and unless a toddler magically appears in our group, he cant accomadate us. He claimed the bumpers were old and suffer from the impact...but like...thats what bumpers are made for? What about the adults in the groups with children? Would that not run the same risk? I don't know. It was just a very poor experience and I have never had a bowling alley pull something like this. I will absolutely never be back. Go...
Read moreThis place has its value but something I cannot get past I do not know if the workers are just poorly trained or if the manager / owner is that ignorant but if you happen to have a kid with you and they rolled the ball too early because the pinsetter got stuck.
Do not allow them to make the threat to you about oweing 3 grand a business cannot just decide what you owe them for damages they will come and say you could be fine $3,000 as somebody who's family works in the law damages have to be examined in court and will be determined by a court a business cannot just say you owe them $3,000 know you're rights.
Kids are bound to make mistakes I've seen this happen to a few different families over time I wouldn't even be against them putting signs up saying if you damage it you pay for it.
But what I am against is that they act like they can just predetermine amount as they cannot that is not legal it would be determined by a judge and it would only be for what the actual damages were in such a situation.
Not to mention given how little force behind a child's role there is The odds of legit damage is practically...
Read moreWe enjoyed our time there, HOWEVER, the people next to us were simply not watching their 6 children AT ALL, and they ended up in or on our lane nearly every time we approached the lane to bowl. The employees did nothing about it and allowed this to go on the entire time we were there. We gave up and left far before we had planned to because we simply could not bowl with constant interference in our lane. The prices are reasonable, and we hope to come back another time and be lucky enough not to have irresponsible parents on our connecting lane. The lanes to the other side of us had a birthday party with a LOT of young boys, and they did just fine, parents helped them to understand not to walk in the lanes like the children on the other side of us. This is not about children.. it was a parenting and management fail. Management should have spoken to the parents who were simply not watching their children and allowing them to continue to walk into the lanes next to them, which is dangerous. We will try again...
