The whole time my 8 year old daughter and I were in there it was one rule after the next don't touch the cat, don't wake up the cat, don't go in The back. There were shelves of books back there. It Looked like a place to shop to me until we saw a cat litter box and left the area. There Should have been a sign telling you to not enter. When we walked in the store there was a cat partially blocking the door, not a good place for a cat! Somebody could have tripped over it and gotten hurt not seeing it untill you open the door. Maybe you shouldn't have a cat in your store if there are so many rules aboutit. Telling us once should have been suffice but sitting at the cash register at the front of the store and yelling through the store at us in the back of it was pretty embarrassing. I didn't even get a chance to disiplin my own child much less look at any books. I didn't buy anything and left. I can get the same books on Amazon and Ebay just ad cheap and without the lecture. The Book house in St. Louis county/Rock Hill had many cats and no one following you while you around the store yelling rules at you while...
Read moreRose's Bookhouse is the best place to buy and sell back books in O'Fallon, Mo. The owner Wendy is amazing! The entire crew is helpful and very knowledgeable. Their website offers a lot of information, including a link to sign up for a KOBO account to purchase Ebooks! If you want to pre-order or have them hold a book for you they do without questions! I have been going here for years and have never had a problem. As for the review of not going there 30 minutes before they close, that employee no longer works there. I have known her awhile, and she is not a nice person. Don't let her bad customer service stop you from visiting Rose's. You can even meet and play with Rosie the resident kitty!!! LOVE ROSE'S...
Read moreThere is a lot more inside than it looks like from the road and they have a huge number of books. Unfortunately, a large percentage of them are romance novels, which is not my cup of tea. Also, the used books were more expensive than they are elsewhere. Many books, including mass market paperback, were 60-70% of the original price when they're generally 50% or less. There were a few special editions and collectors items, but I'm generally looking for a good deal on (non-romance) novels. So it was worth stopping by, but I probably won't go back when I'm in...
