Walt's Barbershop — Local services in O’Fallon

I’ve been coming to this barbershop for a while now and have always had great experiences—so I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by how today went.

I booked a one-hour appointment for both a haircut and beard trim. Unfortunately, the barber I was paired with took nearly two hours just on the top of my hair, and we never even got to my beard. I specifically come to this shop because I expect everyone to be well-trained, especially when it comes to straight blade work, which is why I choose this place over others. Today didn’t reflect the level of professionalism I’ve come to rely on.

Thankfully, the owner stepped in and took the time to clean everything up, which I really appreciated. I did leave happy, and his attention to detail made a big difference. That said, I was still charged the full $45—even though the appointment ran twice as long and was only halfway completed. It left me a bit confused and honestly a little disappointed, especially considering I’m always happy to pay premium prices and tip well when the service is great.

I’m sharing this not out of anger, but in the hope it helps tighten up the experience for future customers. I really like this place and want to continue coming here—it just wasn’t the standard I’ve come to...

Walt’s is a vibe. I can trust anyone there to make sure I leave feeling fresh and clean. Always good conversation and the pride taken by everyone there is hard to beat.
