Mostly positive experiences at this location. I have had some negative interactions, but I attribute that more to people having an off day- even Home Depot employees can do that. I am self employed and buy a lot of supplies at the Oak Ridge Home Depot. I can usually find what I need in the way of welding stock, epoxies, sandpaper, wood finishes etc. I am a professional Bladesmith and I like the Bernzomatic mapp gas torch that I got at Home Depot for tempering operations. I used the same torch on an episode of Forged In Fire.

We go there to get these HDX Heavy duty single use gloves for work. A worker suggested them and they are AMAZING!! We work in the public so we need gloves to clean buildings with, and these are perfect for our every day needs. I HIGHLY recommend these gloves. Plus, The Home Depot staff is always nice and so friendly. Will continue to go there for these gloves.

I’ve traveled and worked in the trades industry for over forty years in and out of the HD stores, and never found a Home Depot this professional and customer service this outstanding. Thank You HD employees and managers at this location, very much.

I just returned some items to the Oak Ridge Store, most were on a receipt, a few were not. I had agreed with the Cashier I would KEEP items NOT on receipts, as I always do

The Cashier scanned the items that were ON a receipt then DEMANDED I SHOW HIM MY DRIVERS LICENSE. That is a violation of TN Consumer Protection laws AND a violation of Home Depots store policies.

The Asst Manager didnt listen and just made excuses of "store policy" which his Cashier HAD VIOLATED. They were completely defensive, ignoring the facts and making excuses to attempt to evade this issue.

The Cashiers Supvervisor made the same excuses, they kept referring to "store policy" which their Cashier violated!

See TN Code § 47-18-104 (2016)

BEware, consumer, the Drivers License is a PRIME DOCUMENT FOR IDENTITY THEFT.

This store is staffed by some of the most incompetent people I've ever met in retail, dishonest, evasive..a real insult. "Suggestive selling" is common there (not having what the Customer wants and trying to trick them into buying something else thats in stock).

Caveat Emptor.

They have lost my business permanently. Ill go to Lowes.

PS the total cost of the items in question? About $10. ANd Ive spent $10,000 there. Never again.

UPDATE! It gets WORSE. Deliberately LIED to by a Department Manager at this store today! AND THREATENED.

I went to the OR store to look at 19/32 plywood for him. Id bought this in 5 ply there, it was extremely strong and clean product.

Said friend had called this store at my suggestion (I wont make that mistake again) and the department Manager told him "its 5 ply".

I told Friend "Ill go there, I know the material and where it is, Ill check to verify the ply rating.

I did. The center rack had about a dozen sheets of 5 ply. The pallet below was FOUR ply. There is a different color-code on the END of the ply bundle, and on the end of each sheet.

I took the Department Manager to the plywood, asked him directly "Is this 5 ply?"

He said "Yes"

I pointed to the pallet of ply below and asked again "is this 5 ply"

He bent down, with his finger, counted off the ply in ONE sheet "one, two three four" THEN POINTED TO THE BOTTOM PLY IN THE SHEET ABOVE AND SAID "FIVE"

Lied through his teeth, or cannot count or distinguish between the concepts of "4" or "5"- which is it?

I told him that it was four ply. He pulled two sheets off the bottom pallet and said "its FOUR ply"

I said ":you lied to me, I want to talk to the STORE Manager." He said "Im the STORE Manager". I again said "I said I want to talk to the Store Manager" . He then said "Im the Department Manager"

I went to the Pro desk and demanded to talk to the Store Manager. The Department Manager came over to me, visibly angry, leaning in towards me and with narrow eyes etc started arguring with me and harassing me. I told him to get away from me, I was a Customer, not his Employee. He stormed away angrily, talking to me over his shoulder as he walked away, repeatedly saying "im walking away" as if it he didnt, he might threaten me further.

The Store Manager came, I explained in great deal to her what just happened, and she deceitfully tried to change the topic from "your Dept. Manager lied to me twice" to "whats wrong, did I receive the wrong material"

I interrrupted her and told her I would not tolerate that deceitful attitude either, and walked out of the Store. She also got visibly angry with me. I left.

The root problem is that EVERY nut, bolt and screw in a retail store like this is on COMPUTERIZED INVENTORY, every step of its manufacture, sales, distribution, warehousing and sales. Ive worked in Big REtail. They know EXACTLY whats on their shelves. The gall of them trying to deliberately deceive me, which lying directly in my FACE is just a new low for this store.

CAVEAT EMPTOR.

PS To HD Management. Ive spent 7,000$ elsewhere. You lost $3000 in sales today. You...

I have given this Home Depot two chances now, and have been disappointed both times in regards to their home services. Late last year after purchasing my home, I setup an in home appointment to discuss replacement windows. It was so unprofessional and sketchy. The window rep seemed very lazy, measured only one window (I have 9 that need replaced, different sizing) did not show me a single sample - he finally did offer, however he presented the suggestion as if he were guiding me to say no. Then after he finally left, a vehicle pulled up in front of my house but the person didn’t get out. I immediately got a phone call from someone saying he was the reps supervisor and started asking me a bunch of questions about the visit. His responses were as if he were looking (and expecting) negative feedback. The vehicle drove off. Phone rings again, it’s the rep asking if he left his clipboard here and wanting to come back and check (which I absolutely did not allow).

Fast forward to last week - the glass fell out of my backdoor. I knew I needed new doors when I purchased the house, so I figured it was time to act. I picked out two doors (big door and storm door). Called Home Depot to setup an in home visit to have it measured. The manager I spoke to tried to talk me out of it, stating they were 2 weeks behind on measuring appointments and 3-4 weeks behind on installation. She said I would be better off finding an independent contractor to do the work. I told her that I have been trying to find a handyman for seven months and have had no luck getting anyone to show up. I told her that I had secured the broken glass and I was okay waiting. I got a call very quickly and had an in home appointment for measuring setup very quickly - the next day. The guy arrived a few hours early, and did a great job of measuring my door. He was very professional and told me they were caught up on door installations and would probably be able to do mine the next week. Great! I asked him what I do next - he told me I wait for the home services person to call me back. He said she should be calling probably in the next day or two and to tell her which door I wanted. No callback a week later. I did get the email that the guy had submitted my measurements, and I would receive a call in 48 hours. Still nothing. I thought that going through a reputable business for this type of service would be more reliable than trying to find an independent handyman. I guess that’s just not the case. How in the world do people find someone to do work on their homes? I will never use this Home Depot again, which is very on convenient as it is so near my home. Also, I should be refunded the $30 I paid to have someone come...

Bought a washer/dryer set in mid November. Was “supposed” to be in stock and the earliest they could get it to us was more than two weeks. Two weeks went by and delivery was rescheduled 4 days later. 4 days later delivery was rescheduled to mid December and now to December 26th. We start getting text messages at this point saying we have been missing delivery when at least one of us is home at all times. I research the delivery company, and lo and behold, it’s RAS Logistics, a company I’ve dealt with before through another retailer we bought a couch from, whose M.O. is to pull into the bottom of your driveway (ours is 50 yds with a bend that obscures the highway by sight), wait a few minutes without calling to notify you, then leave and notify you via text that you missed them. When we DID finally get our couch they were unfriendly and standoff-ish, and we found they had dumped all the shipping and packing material for the couch at our mailbox.

Upon realizing I was dealing with these same people through Home Depot I immediately call them to cancel my order and was shown zero empathy for my plight and given some nonsense about how they can’t because it’s already on the truck for delivery and that the reason it keeps getting rescheduled was it’s back-order status...despite us being told it was immediately available at the time of purchase and despite him literally just having said it was on the truck, which is what our order status had been every time we checked it beginning on December 2nd, the original shipping date.

I hope someone from this Home Depot store reads this. More than a month after I give you $1400 I still haven’t received my appliance and I have a mountain of laundry backing up in our new home and I promise you...if I waste my day-after-Christmas staring out my window all day, again...I’m coming for you. Not Samsung, not RAS Logistics...you...to whom I gave a lot of my money to, and I won’t leave without it....
